Happens to me every year Week 1.
Lot of tossing and turning and waking up thinking football. I'll get over it after I know what we've got and i can see film from game one.
Anyone else restless this week?

My wife told me I was punching the bed last night. Not sure of who it was, but I sure scared her. We don't open for two more weeks.

I'm with you, man. I never sleep early in the year because my brain won't turn off thinking about what to do, and I don't sleep after the season starts because my brain won't stop thinking about what we did!

My old boss after a loss, would take the tape home and watch before he tried to go to tried to sleep, when he determined he couldnt sleep he would watch it again. by the time the staff got together sunday morning his eyes were blood shot, but he would watch the films with us and giving play by play of what went wrong. He knew every mistake everybody including himself made.

I do that also and I'm retired for the 2nd time in the last 3 years. I get up and draw up plays, blocking schemes, whatever comes into my mind while I'm trying to sleep. Frustrates the hell out of my wife of 42 years. You'd think she had adapted by now.

I listen to a sleep meditation. I use a pillow speaker and boom I sleep like the dead.
I was talking to my friend who is a psychologist and he is going to find the article for me about how a large portion of the nfl coaches and college coaches go on anti axniety drugs during the season so they can relax.

I go workout, hit the heavybag, shower then go to bed. If that doesn't work try having a drink , it usually relaxes you a bit

you'll probably think I'm a weirdo but i've been seeing this dr. and he gave me this stuff called clonazepam. it costs like $4 on my prescription. it is not a sleeping pill but it lowers anxiety. I take 1/2 a pill and I get a restful sleep even if i only sleep six hours. took it last night and it was great. I looked it up online and I guess they give larger doses to people that have real problems

I should be good to go with a good night sleep tonight! We have a non-league opener we should win. Good film on our kids so we can coach em up this week.
It just this first week that gets me. It not knowing exactly how they 'll perform. Once I see em on film, see next weeks opponent on film, I sleep like a baby. Okay, a fat ol snoring baby.

Put a command remote on the DVD or VCR in your bedroom. Do the right thing.

I have taken Lunesta for my anxiety. It has done wonders. NO groggyness in the mornings. Brain activity shuts down and you have a deep dreamless sleep. Sometimes it may taste like someone crapped in your mouth in the mornings, but I can get some sleep now during the season.

Sleep is for those lazy phukers who don't have anything else better to do. ME...I'm busy, I don't have time for that "sleeping" BS. Don't know if you are kidding but it's a proven fact a rested mind will make better decisions than one that is tired. most car accidents not involving alchohol are people that fell asleep at the wheel. many college programs encourage their coaches to work out during lunch time. a friend of mine at a big time program actuallly told his previuos coach he would quit if he wasn't allowed to work out. now this guy is a grinder that would put most of us to shame

I just started a college job,and have been up until seven a.m. the past two days. The head man walks ins ees that I have the same clothes on,and asks if I got any sleep. I say no and he tells me to pack up and go home, and come in Tuesday A.M. This is our bye week I slept for five hours, and the dam phone rang four times,as the coaches were looking for stuff. I was out cold, and didn't even hear my phone. I do feel alot better, and will feel better tomorrow as well. There is a difference between working, and working smart, and I was just working yesterday Dumb on my part as you can actually get sick from lack of sleep. When you start feeling tired.Drop what your doing, and GO TO BED guys it's just a game.

I'm sleeping like a baby now.
Week one went exactly as expected. We performed better than we had thought, very few mistakes. No blown assignments, etc.
Now it's a matter of coaching a few kids up and making adjustments for Week 2.
I'll sleep fine from here on out. I know what we have got and a lot of work to do to get better.

4 am... I just wake up... we have had two scrimmages and play our first game this week....funny just working this fall season as a position coach, so I can go back to sleep easy... but if I think of the season I had this summer in Europe I am awake till 6...we will see, hopefully my boys do their job and counting sheep is a thing of the past.
