I was able to scout our our next opponent for this weekend. They have a solid 4-4 defense. We played a team with a 5-3 this weekend and won,our line did pretty well. I am wanting some Ideas for attacking this defense. There outside LB's are good sized and aggressive. I am running an I, Power I and Twins package. I have good backs with speed and power. I am not sure if i wanna pass, I would like to dominate at the line then work my way to that.
I am banging my head as to what I want to do, can anyone help me on creating a scheme.
Thx

I shouldn't do this but its for the children.... your twinn I, should work well. run your plays to the week side from this formation when their WLB comes off to cover the the twin reciever it will leave the weak side off tackle lane open. unless........... the freesafty comes down to cover the twinn in which case the DEFESE is in a COVER 0! that a green light for the passing game most qb's at youoth level can "sling it" well enough to force the opposing coach to chance that coverages, if you're running and all go(streaks) verse it. you can run qb running plays, using the fb and hb as lead blockers. this will give you a "hat vs a hat when they go to that cover 0 defense.
to the strong side i would use that I power formation and motion my weakside TE into a strong wing position making it look like and I wing formation. from her its all about where the DE is align if he is align inside the wing sweep. if he's align out side the wing go to your off tackle game.

Thx Coach, I used to get killed by a 4-4, till I spread it out runnig Single wing, see if they cover a # 2 rec with the OLB, then you can run off tackle, a little easier

A concept we have used is to go along with putting a twins look out there, but having it be an unbalanced front, so you still get the TE surface to run to. SE-----------E--T--G--C--G--T ------Z-----------------Q ------------------------F ------------------------H You cold also go "tackle over" to keep the end man on the weak side eligible, but it might be tough to re-teach blocking assignments to a tackle who is (for all appearances) now going to be taking the responsibility of the TE. This has worked great for us in getting that OLB out of the picture...and I doubt very much that you will get an ingenious adjustment out of a set of 9-year old defenders. Half the time, varsity teams don't even see it.
