We are tempted to run a no-huddle this season. Not a hurry-up but a line up get the play and run it type no-huddle. Working on a plan to sub kids out when gassed(30yd run, etc).
Thing is...I have 5-6 kids that might play both ways.
Do any of you do this? Advice? Is this suicide?
We play at a level where most teams have almost all players playing both ways. If my kids are in great shape, can we wear people out or are we just wearing ourselves out?

No huddle does not mean hurry up. It will actually be easier on your 2 way kids because they can just line up. THey do not have to go all the way to the huddle every play. Saves WRs 40 yds possible running each play. Also you can sub very easy if you work it in practice. The key is practice. If you rep it everyday, game day becomes easy. Use wristbands and it is even easier. We will have possibly 6 2 wayers. They get in shape daily and it becomes second nature. If they feel you are concerned they will believe they can not do it. Sell out to it and they will follow along.

The players will get better conditioning by practicing this every day as they don't really realize that this is a form of conditioning. The opponents won't be used to this hustling back to the LOS and getting ready immediately for the next play. It is a big advantage for your players. I don't think it is a problem even though you have players going both ways. JMO

I agree. The biggest advantage with the no-huddle, is it doubles the amount of reps you get in practice.

I agree with all of the above posts. We do this with lots of two way players (usually at least 5). Great tempo for practice because you don't have the down time of running back to the huddle each play. Makes it tough for defenses to sub but easy for you to sub. Guys get a rest after they have already lined up for the next play. I don't know if I'll ever go back to huddling with my offense no matter the scheme.

How does everyone call plays using signals from sideline?? For example, I run alot of motion and ALOT of formations. How do can I translate all of that through signals?
