I coached with a guy who demanded that there be no citrus at the half. He was concerned about the players taking in acidic foods when the body was trying to rid itself of its lactic acid build up. Don't know if there was any merit to it.

This is a GOOD topic and something I take seriously. As coaches, we cannot force or persuade kids to drink things, BUT, one of the items we offer as an option is an engery drink that does NOT make the kids spike up and then crash, it simply gives them the right amount of vitamins, minerals and boost. It is listed below my signature on here, and I highly recommend it. It is endorsed by several professional leagues and I did my homework before using it and putting it out there. KB so there's even such a thing as "The A-11: the drink." you guys are true entrepreneurs

We have given our kids halftime food for the first time -- hard to quantify results but I know the kids like it. Started off with oranges but saw that another poster said no to citrus ---- tried pears last week - (kids liked it) how about apples? seems the more you think you know the less you know!!
oh yeah, also supply pickle juice and mustard for the crampers and fig newtons for everyone!!!!!!
