Here in my particular part of LA, the first day of "practice" with gear will be August 11. The first day of SCHOOL for my district is AUGUST 8TH!!!!!
What are your start dates vs school dates?

Ouch that sucks. Our first day of pads is Aug. 11th. The kids go back to school around the 26th 27th. We have always gotten two weeks before the start of school in PA for as long as I can remember.

We have two days of helmets only that begins on Aug. 18. School doesn't start until Sept. 2nd.

Our school starts after labor day. We start doubles w/ no pads the first monday in Aug. We will play our first game and school hasn't even started!!!!

Practice starts August 11th. With Pads August 16th (our first two a day). School starts in Sept.

We start school on Aug. 18. The first day of fall practice here is also Aug. 18. However, since our week 1 opponent has a zero week game and starts practice a week early, we also get to start a week early (crazy Nebraska rules), so we get to start on Aug. 11.
We have started practice on or after the school year starts. It didn't really cause us any problems (we have one long practice each day for the first week... no two-a-days... some kids live too far away for that to make sense). I do like avoiding the heat in the afternoon though.

Minnesota starts practice on Aug 11th and school starts on the Tuesday after labor day. We play our week 1 game the week before school starts.

This past year graduation was May 9- school was out May 14.

Jeez.. In my situation.. I would love for school to start early just so that I would have no issues with my kids missing practice.
First day for our kids is Aug 18.. and like the other LA guys.. first day in shells is Aug 11.. we will have our pre-season scrimmage on Aug 21.

first day of practice is Aug 11 and the first day of school is Aug 25, we usually get 2/3 weeks of practice before school starts, so this year's schedule fits what we're used to

First day of practice is Aug. 13th. We have three days of helmets only. School starts on Aug. 18th. We have been able to have shoulder pads and helmets for our contact days over the summer, but when practice starts we have to have three days of helmets only, go figure.  |

wow I thought that it was only in Missouri that we had to deal with such Non-sense as that. We start school on aug. 11th and our 1st day of Practice is Aug. 11th....... and our 1st Full team Scrimmage is Aug. 23rd. So I guess we're not the only one's dealing with it. So how do Most of you guys do it as far as Practice is Concerned?
What would you guys do as far as the Length of Practice time if you were in my situation? because I was thinking of just going from 3 - 6-6:30?

In IL, the first day of practice is always a Wednesday, August 13th in this year's case. Schools generally start the Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday the week after, at least the schools I've been with.

In Virginia we're required by state law to start school after Labor Day. We start practice on Aug. 4th.

In TX schools don't start until the 25th I believe. 1A - 3A schools and those 4A and 5A schools that didn't have spring practice start on August 4th. The ones that had Spring Ball start on the 11th. The 4A school I'm at didn't have Spring Ball because all the skill kids were in other sports, mainly track.

FB starts Aug 20
School starts Sept 2
Pretty good set up to have the boys thinking FB 100% for a couple of weeks. I'd hate to have to get all of our installation in while teachers are packing their brains full of academia.
You guys that deal with this have my utmost respect.

North Coast Section, CA
08/18 - 1st official practice - full pads from the get-go
08/29 - Scrimmage
09/03 - 1st day of school
09/04 - 1st game (Thursday)
06/18 - Graduation
We've been to a 4-day contact camp, with 5 other teams, and could be running double-days with pads right now if we wanted.
