Lots of good selectsions. If you do a search for highlight video songs you will find many more good ones. I found a ton of new music I liked when I did research for our video.
How about this question. What is the best song you wish you could play but due to the lyrics you can't. Hands down mine would be Guns N' Roses Get in the Ring. I've thought about trying to edit it and take out some parts because I like it so much.

We could have played the song on Rudolf for the island of misfit toys a couple of years ago. what a group.... LOL And . . . I must be getting old, some of the songs some coaches have listed I've never heard of. I'm only 37 years old . . . do they play Killer Mike on the classic rock stations?

I liked a lot of the songs, especially the bagpipes. The HS my daughter's going to in a couple years has the Highlanders for the mascot.
Liked Requiem for a Dream too.
Here's my 2 cents: Mars: The Bringer of War from "The Planets" Don't remember if anyone mentioned it yet, but it gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
Picture starting it while the players are deep in the tunnel, the crowd can't see them yet. Start the song at about 5:15 or so (at least in the version I posted). Let it run . . . then when it peaks at 5:47, picture the players bursting from the tunnel as the other team is standing on the sidelines watching. If you get big crowds at your home game, I'm sure they'd go nuts at this entrance
And this is important: NO PA announcer trying to shout like crazy over the music. Wrecks entrance music every time, IMO

Still of the Night by Whitesnake
One of my choices (probably change each week) but can't because of the lyrics would be 5 Minutes Alone by Pantera

You could get the instrumental of the songs with heavy cursing! Play the regular version in the locker room.

As a note, Requiem for a Dream music only works if you haven't seen the movie. Otherwise, you'll want to gauge your eyes out. Craziest movie ever.

"welcome to the jungle" is way overplayed but works great for some team names (tigers, lions, wildcats, etc) "crush 'em" by Megadeth is also a great one. they wrote that song as something to be played at hockey games.

My goal is almost always to have something that hasn't been played by every other team in the county. My thoughts are that if we're playing something that is played at the other schools in our league, etc then we're essentially giving away part of our homefield advantage. Plus I'm an aspiring music snob. I've also got a thing for individuality/originality. In all honesty, I could spend a foolish amount of time on something like this because it's almost a form of self-expression. Ever made a mixtape for a special lady friend? Same deal, except replace special lady friend with several dozen wildly inappropriate teenage boys. To continue contributing: Sonic Syndicate, "Aftermath" Travis Barker, "Soulja Boy Remix" I kinda hate the original song with an intense passion, but this remix is friggin' awesome. Nine Inch Nails, "Every Day Is Exactly The Same" If you're a perennial power, this would be a fun message to send to the other team Rowdy Roddy Piper, "I have come here to chew bubblegum..." (from They Live) I'm planning on looping that into whatever our entrance song is going to be this year

Mariner, you have out done yourself here. Thanks Buddy.
I am with you, get something different, how many times can you hear He!!'s Bells and We are the Champions?
Travis Barker is one legit Mother f----er. It has been a long journey from his days with the Fury Aquabats as the Baron Von Tito.
Anything NIN is gonna be A+ in my book.

Speaking of NIN, how sweet would it be to play this little Diddy as you came onto the field: Clean Version
Not clean version, which would be sweet on the loudspeaker:

not trying to hijack this, but who do you guys have putting in the CD? most of the time we have to have one of the coaches run up to the box and put our warm up music in.
which means when we come out as a team we have no control over what is played so we come out to our fight song, played by the band not bad, but not the same emotion as a major college fight song.

Cool Cmow, I like that. At one school we would have the linemen walk out together led by the drumline of the band. Now that was tits Loraine right there. I think being led by bag pipes and/or a drumline is the absolute best entrance music you could ever get.

Speaking of Monster Magnet, I've always liked this one: "Space Lord" Also, that Last of the Mohicans track is AMAZING. We used to listen to it in the weight room in HS because we'd all seen that final fight/chase scene a dozen times. The bass, the fiddle, it all goes perfectly, it's the equivalent of the Sistine Chapel of soundtrack music, imo. Goosebumps, every time, without fail. Also, Andy Samberg, "Like A Boss" .

Don't ask me how or why, but I found this song. I have NEVER heard it before yesterday. I know of the guy and his one big hit in the 80's. Anyway this song seems like a great football song. could be entrance music, could be highlight tape music. I think of a rainy Friday night, muddy hogs, just some smash mouth football.
enjoy and tell me what you think
maybe its just me, but I really like this song

This is what I play for my kids in the locker room at half time when I think they are getting to violent on the field.
And I follow it up with, "If a Seven hundred and fiftyfucking pound man can do it, then so can you, now let's get out there and do some cheek turnin".
