Man I rewatched this video and I really enjoy it. Richt does a great job with it. To be honest I like this combo best with the smash concept backside, but I really like his Trey version with the TE to the flat and the RB running the seam.

He likes to stem the release on his choice route(my preference as well).
Other coach told me that useless, a waste of time. Went from going over 80% in practice, scrimmages, games to about a 50% plus team, games and practice.
That slant inside off the stem lets the WR determine the coverage much better to see a hot key. He uses it to get inside the flat on the curl as well. It also helps him widen or narrow his release so he comes open in ways that can aid ball control.
As for protections, the turnback and half step items could have been discussed more, but he shows a BOB appearance with the back(front) and hot(back) taking the place of the other spot.
My choice is to put the back and a hot to front so he saves time trying to find the route adjustment. His is more balanced, using the backside. The beginning levels you can commit the front side, even with people who overpursue, there's always extra space on the front of plays and that saves the QB a lot of time. We basically wanted someone to get inside the point if he plays out too far on the flat, work to the flat automatically with another, and take the point outright if he hesitates on rollouts and sprints.
Just overload the point and someone will get through. Be aware of spacing, key those wide players from the end out to cb.

liberhater: I agree. The part I thought was good was when he talked about how he came up as a QB coach and actually misses it. I think it's important to miss that aspect of it when you're a HC.
