I know it's an original and old offense but the program I am in is switching to the single wing and I was wondering if there were any gurus out there that could give us some advice on installing the offense in the first year?
We recently hired a former HC that has run it successfully and he is putting us through Single Wing 101.
Anything helps. Thanks.

Coach, There is a very dedicated group of Single Wing enthusiasts here: forums.delphiforums.com/SingleWing/messagesYouth, MS and High School coaches running the Single Wing. We have a "conclave" in Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania each March for 2 1/2 days. In excess of 120 coaches attend. Includes legends like Menominee HS HC Kurt Hofer, who is edging towards 300 wins etc. Ive runthe Signle Wing at the youth level for 8 seasons now, spinning fullback, jet series, T series etc.

I would encourage you to get ahold of Coach Mark Bliss at Edwardsville, IL. He won 4 state championships at Conway Springs, KS, running the single wing and will be in his first year at Edwardsville. He is one of the best single wing coaches in the country.

In that case, do as Dave suggests and join the Delphi Single Wing forum. Then buy this book, and ask Mrs. Keuffel about the highlight DVDs she has for sale as well (send her my best regards, if you would): www.singlewingfootball.com/You'll also want to browse through the archives of this site: www.directsnapfootball.com/

This offense is fun to watch, and it permuates football today (coach gilbert is right on with the Meyer comment)
eagle, you may want to attach yourself to your HC's hip, and learn as much as possible-----not just plays, but theory of conflict and philosophy
If he is a SWer, he is probably very passionate about it,

Coach it's such a successful system, that even 101 is often enough to get the job done, we went to the championship our 1st year running it. The only issue I had was that I had to adapt it to our numbering system. I favor the short punt system since it's one of the more "rare" setups. There's tons of resources out there now....I found almost everything I needed through interlibrary loan, and through the Delphiforums site......and oh yeah, a little resource known as Ted Seay....thanks again Teddy
Also from what I've seen and heard you can't go wrong with Dave Cisar's stuff as well, it's top notch
