I am posting this thread in the hope that we can get a whiteboard clinic going in the near future.
I would like the topic to revolve around shotgun veer/zone read offenses that utilize a TE. We have had many great discussions pertaining to this offense within 2x2 and 3x1 sets, but I would like to explore how using a TE within formations affects the offense.
If you run this type of offense and are interested in speaking at such a clinic, reply within this thread or PM me.
Thanks In Advance,
CB

CB,
We've done it with and without, mostly without because true "TE" type bodies seem to be rare. When you have a big body that can block and run, its nice, if not, I go with speed. Biggest thing IMO is that with a TE you can control the front more, for example, a lot of teams set the 3 tech to the FB side to try to split the double on veer and force a tough chip by the center on the 3 with GT. With a TE strong and a FB weak, you can bind the front some. One drawback is that your schemes change a bit with a TE and without, the OT's need to be very aware if they have a TE or not.
