I got this idea from Gene Chizik at Iowa State. He has his coaches make a Practice Drillls Plan Template with all the drills that they will use all year. When it gets time to plan out practice all the coach has to do is just pick and choose which drills to use. I am fairly new to coaching the D-Line (my first year was last year). Do any of you have suggestions on my form? Drills, catagories, etc... I do the same thing with my drills. I have an inventory of drills for what skill(s) we are trying to focus on. Then I can pull from that menu. It helps keep me organized and rotates the drills. But there are some drills (like a good steak on a menu) that we come back to over and over and over again.

Coach I do the same, all position do there own drills. We try to mix it up but I start all my practices with everyday drills rep rep rep

I break mine down differently into ABCs.
A drills are every day drills B drills are every other day drills C drills are once a week drills
Every day will obviously have some A drills, should have some B drills, and will probably have a C drill.
That way you can prioritize ahead of time how you want to utilize each drill.

I group my drills into passing oriented drills and run game oriented drills. Each practice we focus on either run game or pass game for the whole indy session. Generally, I'll do run game on practice days that have a lot of contact scheduled (full pads), and do pass game on days when we are not full gear.
