Looking to see if anybody uses a player/parent handbook/manual based on team/individual rules, consequences, etc. Any information you have will be greatly appreciated.

Looking to see if anybody uses a player/parent handbook/manual based on team/individual rules, consequences, etc. Any information you have will be greatly appreciated. Every school I coached at had an "Athletic Handbook" for students-parents. Both had to sign and return a document averring they had read it before student could participate. Many schools have now put them online and must be completed as part of "athlete registration" process. So no need for handbook or manual. We covered any policies-procedures specific to Football at Sign-up Meeting in May, Parents' Meeting in June, and initial Team Meeting Friday before first practice in August.

Had a player/parent "contract" covering the athlete's responsibility and accountability supporting the Character, Academic, Communication, Substances use/abuse, and Overall School Policies. Included a parent (guardian)/coach Communication Plan outlining guidelines for what parents/guardians and coaches should expect considering communication policy regarding their athlete. Both of these documents had to be signed by both the athlete and the parent/guardian and RETURNED BEFORE the athlete could practice. These were included in the General Football Program Guidelines Manual.

The school has an athletic handbook the parents and kids have to sign before playing. Each sports program has their own parent/player contract detailing rules and procedures outside of the handbook and specific to the program/team.
