We are in the D1 (largest division in Michigan) state semifinals next Saturday and I was just sitting here reflecting on how thankful I am to be in this position, and how I'm really just enjoying the ride.
I don't know what Saturday will bring, but I've loved every moment of this ride. Currently sitting at 10-2. Have had a lot of roller coaster games where we just keep finding ways to get it done in the end.
Idk, enjoy it if you're still playing fellas. We cranked on the lights for practice after school last week and we talked about how you're always in a good place if you need the lights for an afternoon practice.

We are, but to be fair I'm at a NorCal Juco and our regular season still has one week left. We're going to make a bowl game, though, so I get to coach through Thanksgiving for the first time.

Nope, southern california playoffs are now in semi finals which we did not make. They take all the playoff qualifiers here, line them up by power rankings, then divide up the brackets as such (competitive equity).
Guess we won our last regular season game by too much, because we went from being a top seed in the division we thought we’d end up in, to the bottom seed in the next division up.
Lesson learned fir next year. Dont perform at your best in the season, get an easier path to a ring

State finals next Saturday. Wish we still played into Thanksgiving week but our state changed the calendar a few years ago to finish before Thanksgiving.

The two teams i was associated with by association got slaughtered. By two very nice private schools where things were done differently on many different levels.

What does that mean for the playoffs/tournement? Every state is different, and the only standard most know is round 1/2/3 round, quarterfinals, semifinals.... or some regional/sectional games to get to the quarter finals/semis/etc... |

Season ended with a loss on Friday night in the first round of the Georgia HS playoffs.

The sad thing is, its better than it was 3 years ago. Still not as good as it was 8+ years ago. |

Last game was Nov. 4th our championship is Veterans Day weekend. We got 2 feet of snow on the 10th, we knew it was coming and some teams traveled Wednesday for the Friday game. 3rd year of a loss in the semi-finals in the last 5 years. It has been amazing!

Or something similar? similar. everyone has a Base division (ex. we are base division 4) then based on power ranking (Cal Preps) you can move up or down 1 division (we moved up to Div 3 based on record and Strength of Schedule), then top 16 teams in each division based on Cal Preps ranking who won at least 3 season games, go to the playoffs. |
