Definitely depends on your program, but a super fun thing we did when I was in high school was a sleepover at the school. We had our big fundraising night and then everybody had tents and sleeping bags and we camped out on the field. We watched a movie in the auditorium and we had dinner brought in. Got up the next morning to lift and we were free to go after lifting.

water ballon fight squirt gun fight scavenger hunt based on knowledge of the program various hidden conditioning events: - ultimate frisbee with a football - if you have the rec ball adjustable BB goal 3 v 3 dunk ball - big man 4x100 -etc.... if you have the tech, Madden/Call of Duty/NBA/etc... tournement on the scoreboard/video board; or in the the team room on the big screen life lessons: -changing a tire -jump starting a car -using a lawn mower/weed eater -unclogging a toilet -making a hamburger -etc....
Think about what kids like to do and multiply by 50+ bodies, or conversely what the kids in your program don't get to do...
in addition to the above... a sleep over would be a major life event for most kids considering the past 2 years.

For the record I HATED the midnight madness practices cause it almost guranteed a 2nd bad practice but if I did it all over again and structured it better:
-Capture the flag within the stadium after dark -Bonfire on school property (obviously not within the stadium) - Camp out in the end zone / behind FG post - Team breafakst -Team lift - Practice (2 hours) - Film Review) - Special Teams only practice (90 minutes) then send them home for the day

Best thing we ever did was to eliminate two a days, It was totally impractical for the kids especially for the farm kids who are busy with harvest that time of year.
Instead we did one long practice about 3 hours starting at 7:00 am with defense first, then a little break with some gator aid, a little snack, some relaxing, then the offensive practice, the dew is off the grass by that time and the ball is not so slippery and we get more reps. Kids are home by noon and done for the day.
I was very skeptical about it when the head coach first implemented it but now I absolutely love it.

Kids are home by noon and done for the day. I was very skeptical about it when the head coach first implemented it but now I absolutely love it. Thought I was the only one who did that! When our school decided on starting school on Monday of the third week of August it forced the coaching staff and I to only schedule "double sessions" for a few days out of necessity because we had to attend in-service meetings the entire second week of August. A number of my guys were off-campus so that compounded the issue. AND, the first three days of official practice had to be without pads (acclimatization days). Therefore I devised the following: Day 1-3 - (Acclimatization) 7:00 am Dress and Team Meeting (Camp) 7:30 am Warm-up. County Fair (strength and conditioning circuit) 40 minutes, 6 stations. 8:30 am Break - Snacks and Film session (Defense) 9:30 am On the Field - Stretch. Defense Practice w/bags (Fundamentals - Alignments - Assignments) 11:30 am Defense Team Pursuit 11:45 am Stretch Down - Announcements NOON Team Lunch (provided by parents)
4:00 pm Team Meeting and Film Session (Offense) 4:45 pm On the Field/Warm-up 5:00 pm Offense Practice w/bags (Fundamentals - Alignments - Assignments) 7:00 pm Team Offense (Huddle - Break - Alignment) 7:15 pm Stretch Down - Announcements 7:30 pm Dismissed
Day 4-6 - (Uppers) 7:00 am Dress and Team Meeting (Defense) 7:30 am Individual Group warm-up and stretch 8:00 am Individual Group Defense (Fundamentals - Form Tackling) 8:15 am Individual Group Defense (Alignments - Assignments) 8:30 am Combo Groups Defense (Inside/7 on 7) 8:45 am Team Defense (Recognition - Alignments - Assignments) 9:00 am Team Defense Pursuit (Recognition - Alignments - Assignments - BTTW) 9:15 am Snack Break and Team Meeting (Offense) 9:45 am On the Field - Team Warm-up 10:00 am Individual Group Offense (Fundamentals - RUN Blocking) 10:15 am Individual Group Offense (RUN Game Alignment - Assignment) 10:30 am Combo Group Offense (RUN Game Alignment - Assignment) 10:45 am Individual Group Offense (Fundamentals - PASS Blocking) 11:00 am Combo Group Offense (PASS game - Pass Pro/Routes 11:15 am TEAM Offense 11:45 am TEAM Offense (2 minute drill) NOON Stretch down - Announcements - Dismissed
Week 2 - (Full Gear) Monday Defense - Tuesday Offense - Wednesday Defense - Thursday Offense - Friday Defense - Saturday Offense 2.5 hour practices adjusted to include special teams
Week 3 - Monday Offense (Uppers) - Tuesday Defense (Full) - Wednesday Offense (Uppers) - Thursday Defense (Uppers) - Friday Scrim.
Week 4 - (GAME WEEK) Monday Offense (Uppers) - Tuesday Defense (Full) - Wednesday (O&D) - Thursday (Game Script)
