When you practice in-season how many coaches, counting the HC, are there? I'm not just asking about paid positions.

I just started on a brand new staff, but from what I understand, we have: HC OC/QB OL WR/RB (me) S&C/Asst. WR/RB DC/LB DB DL 2 other Defensive Assistants
It’s by far the biggest staff I’ve ever been a part of at the high school or college level.
The school I was at this past year had: HC/OC/DC/OL QB/RB (me) WR LB DB DL

We try to platoon staff as much as possible
HC/DC/STC OL/OC QB RB/TE WR/DL ILB OLB DB ----- Freshmen HC Freshmen OC Freshman OL/DL ----- JV practices with varsity, no JV-specific coaches (combo of varsity and freshmen coaches on gamedays)
We also have a several guys who have specific gameday resonsibilities (box spotters, stats, film, etc.) but aren't full time coaches.
This is a Class A (largest in state) school on the small end of that classification.

The size of your staff questions reminds me of a story... ....A 2nd grade teacher was teaching about measurement using the generic word "units." She was trying to explain why it's important to have a standard unit like feet or inches because my actual foot is a different size than your foot etc etc.
She would ask how big is your desk and so on. There was a male para in class. A student asked how many "Mr. Smith long is the room?" I kid you not her reply was "That depends on how big Mr. Smith's unit is."
The kiddos didn't get it. But man the adults did.

8-9 on varsity 4-5 on JV (4 this coming season and will probably stay at 4 for a while) 4 on Frosh I will never understand why this is, but the participation numbers of both players and coaches is so different from Michigan to North Carolina. We had more players and almost as many coaches at a school of 750 kids in Michigan as we do at a school of almost 2000 in North Carolina.

Small school, under 400 kids. We currently have four, two on varsity and two on JV.
We have five paid positions, but can't find a fifth coach.
Varsity we have:
Myself- HC/DC/ OLB's/ RB's assistant- OC/ QB's/ DB's
JV Head- JV DC/ ILB's/ WR's JV assistant- coach both varsity and JV OL/DL.
We may have a fifth coach, not sure.
We split special teams.
We will work together during certain periods at practice.
Game day, our OC will go in at halftime with the varsity and I stay and coach with the JV guys.
We coached with four guys on two staff last year.
