Has anyone every experienced this and if so how did it get resolved?
November 2019- sent in helmets with Schutt for reconditioning
August 16, 2020- helmets are returned (6 days after practice started)- 18 of them not our helmets, we have molded helmets with no paint and the paint job is horrendous, they are not the same sizes, they are not the same brands.
August 17, 2020- report to sales rep.
October, 2020- get a response, it seems to have been an issue with the recon facility in Mexico. The helmets will be replaced one for one with new helmets but the new ones will be base models vs the Vengeance and Speed Flex that were sent in for recon. In the mean time the helmets paint has almost completely pealed off to reveal a yellow base (not one of our school colors).
December 2020- new helmets will be sent with our spring order. We let them know that we wouldn't be ordering any Schutt items until we received the exchange helmets.
May 2021- no helmets blamed on Covid
June 2021- helmets will be sent and arrive in time for August practice.
August 2021- notified of material shortage and no helmets will be sent
November 2021- Schutt rep. retires make agreement with new rep that will reduce the number of helmet but they will be F7's because they are in stock.
December 2021- Items will be sent ASAP
January 2022- No items and new rep quit and no one has any idea what is going on. All email chains have been sent to Regional Manager.

I know guys in UT had to have kids on lower levels wearing helmets with different color/paint/logos because we couldn't get helmets.
Luckily for me, we finish our 15th week of the season (state championships) before thanksgiving, and since we are independent, my season ended in mid-October and I sent in my recon less than a week later... got it back this past week. My rep I go through is awesome and completely up-front about things. He told me last January if I didn't order 1st, I wouldn't get helmets. This year, I ordered them before Christmas as well. They got delivered yesterday while I'm here at AFCA.
Nothing I've seen on the quality-side that you mentioned, but I know all the reps I work with are stressing about not being able to fill or complete orders because of things out of their hands.

This happened to me TWICE at a previous school. It finally took a lawyer I knew writing a letter stating we were prepared to file suit because of the potential liability of putting our kids in older helmets, not to mention the liability to an entire school district. They eventually made it right but we had to borrow helmets from aanother local school to get through the summer. The second time, well VICIS went out of business so we do have a business of those helmets for sale if anyone is interested in purchasing one

Only problem I had is I can’t get our new helmets we order in less than 3 months. But my buddy at another school got his helmets back plus 15 of the same color and type that weren’t his. His sales rep told him to keep them. They had no way of knowing where they should have went. I told him someone is going to be really pissed off about being shorted 15 helmets!

Not a political rant or statement here.
We haven’t had this issue exactly and this all goes back to way before Covid. There have been a large amount of issues when helmets are sent out of the US for recon.
We’ve run into companies not giving us the correct face masks back. Bad paint jobs. Stuff not put back in the helmets correctly/well. Billing issues. Pick up and drop off issues. Riddell has been the best one so far for us but there have still been issues.

Schutt sent us 6 helmets!! Yippee. only 7 more and we will call it good.
