I would guess it varies by state, but we've been told in Iowa any days missed between now and April 13th will not need to be made up.

Or we could also be back in a couple weeks. Things escalated quickly; it could go the other way too.

They’re making us come in and work though without students Out of curiosity what are you guys doing in there w/o kids? We have some schools doing that around us and it doesn’t sound overly productive.

We have some schools doing that around us and it doesn’t sound overly productive. Helping with distribution of food and getting lessons to technology so they can put them online. Basically I think they know students won’t be returning this year and doing this to justify paying our contract.

Out of curiosity what are you guys doing in there w/o kids? The greatest job ever. "This would be a great job if it weren't for the kids or their parents."

Coaches were asked to clean out their lockers today so the custodial crew could sanitize that room and seal it up. I don't we will get back into it until the summer or fall. I don't think I will see a student face to face for the rest of the school year.

Start online teaching tomorrow, its boring.
No watching sports, No social interaction, Not working, Spending all my day in front of a device, Wondering if the government will give me money,
Covid 19 has turned us all into Millenial Hipsters

I am in France where they basically Quarantined everybody. Not allowed to go out except for work, food. It first 15 days but it's goanna be at least 30-45 days at least. I want to find the most coaching ressources that I can. I have the football tool chest for that. Where is the forum I should go to find ressources (mostly on Offense about Air Raid, Flexbone and Wing T)

Apparently a lot of coaches have decided to exploit the quarantine to make money, b!tch about how bored they are not having off season(I’m sure those dying sympathize), or post home workouts for their teams to do.
If I wasn’t addicted to social media I would go dark man.

For what its worth, I grabbed a bench a bar, and enough free weights and plates from our campus and brought them home to at least keep me in shape. I recommend those of you with the garage/backyard space do the same.

I am well into the serious risk age group, and taking care of a 93 year old mother. This stuff ain't funny! You young guys will do anything to get rid of us Boomers. Lol

I recommend those of you with the garage/backyard space do the same. I wish I still had free access to a weight room. It's one of the drawbacks to not coaching anymore. They closed the planet fitness I work out at until at least March 31st. Luckily I have some tractor tires in my backyard I've accumulated over the years. I'll have to Crossfit type stuff it out I guess.

If I wasn’t addicted to social media I would go dark man. Our coaches have been flooding group text with all the various workouts. One coach send one Maryland is doing. It didn’t seem too strenuous but since they had the incident with a player dying in recent years. It made me wonder if a coach at a school encourages kids by sending these workouts and something goes wrong, if that coach could be held liable to a certain degree. I have been at several different schools and one universal has been to not let kids workout in the weightroom unsupervised. Could these exercises be an extension of unsupervised workouts? Do they open up coaches to potential reprimand or legal action if something goes wrong? I am not involved in implementing these workouts so I am not extremely worried. But it has me wondering.

You went way more in-depth than I was thinking but all good points. I was thinking more on the lines that we as a profession need to really sit back and observe our thoughts that we have to control our players time always. For example, a buddy of mine posted a workout that was body weight 3x12 on everything. So 36 push-ups are going to help your kids keep their bench maxes? I get that you don’t want your kids being lumps during all of this but guess what...the kids who are dedicated will do stuff and the ones who are lumps will be lumps. We told our kids to try and get out and do something physical and not to just sit around playing video games but be smart about it. I feel that sufficient
