Looking around at different places around the country wondering two things....
1) How many coaches do you have on staff? 2) What is your enrollment?
Asking around as we are restructuring how many allotted stipends we get.

1800 students about 65 kids started the season for varsity, we did not have enough lineman for 2 teams, so all played varsity Paid Coaches HC 2 Coordinators 5 Varsity Asst 3 sub varsity asst (one varsity coach got this pay, one guy who helped with filming, laundry, etc, and one guy who paints fields and helps with building projects, painting game field, setting up all equip on Fridays) D Team (middle school head coach) Had one asst coach that volunteered and all 3 middle school asst coaches volunteer.
Most of our conf opponents have 22 paid coaches for (varsity, JV, and freshmen teams) If we add those teams, and we hope to soon, we would get a paid head coach position for each. So we would have 13 paid coaches for 3 teams and our opponents have 22. I coached at another place in the state where we had 24 paid coaches, but some of those were because the Head Coach was allowed to split supplements.

1130 kids
We have 12 coaches between varsity and lower levels, all paid but I think a couple get paid through the boosters rather than contracted positions.
I think we have 4 middle school coaches that get a smaller stipend as well, could be off on that number though.
My last school was like 1220 and we had 8 varsity and 3 lower level coaches, I believe all paid as well. Similar system to my current school in that I think there were only like 6 contracted assistants but others got a stipend through program specific funds.

I'm guessing we have around 500 students. We have 6 coaches; I believe 5 are paid. That's for 9-12. I think 7th-8th has three coaches.

Asking around as we are restructuring how many allotted stipends we get. This is going to depend more on budget than enrollment. At my last school, we had an enrollment of about 900 and 7 coaches. We had an 8th stipend that admin wouldn't let us fill. Before that, I was at a school of about 1100 and we had 11, including 6 coaches who were defense only. At my first school, the enrollment was similar, but we only had 6 total and everybody but the OL coach and HC coached both sides. I was once at a small school with enrollment of 390. We had 4 allotted stipends. Needless to say, everyone coached both sides there, too. Nearby school of 2100ish has 15 coaches in their program per their website. These were all paid stipends.

I'll second that comment about budgets being the determining factor. At my last school our enrollment was around 1600. We had then and they have now five paid positions, one of which is for the HC and one designated for the JVHC. There is no freshman or MS program. That's true of all ten schools in the district. We usually add enough volunteers-of varying quality- that we end up with about ten coaches. None are paid by boosters but sometimes one or two, if they're district employees, may get a stipend from a second sport.

Took over program that had 75 players 7-12. Numbers are up to 100+ Fingers crossed we can get some more help. Numbers are down in current classes so we are actually dropping in classification as numbers are coming up within our program.

• 500 kids in the school • 7 coaches (split-staff; 4 OFF/3 DEF) • 57 players back in August
I am very jealous of some of the other schools in our conference with similar enrollments, but no soccer teams. Those guys will have 80-90 kids on their roster some years and two-platoon. Our soccer team is a powerhouse and most years for us, we’ll have 1-2 guys that could literally be all-state in football playing soccer. But it’s a fun challenge and I wouldn’t trade our kids for anyone.
