I'm in a program that graduated a ton of players but has had a shipload of kids transfer in. Only a couple are eligible due to valid change of residence, the rest all have a 5 week sit out period. The dads of these kids are a huge pain in the balls. Nearly all of them wanted us to lie to make them immediately eligible. Also, most of them show up to practice and stand around on the sidelines running their fat traps. It is very strange, the HC never allowed it in the past. But these kids that transferred in are so good that he is afraid to lose them by ticking off their fathers. So I'd say that I'm most annoyed by parents.

fantomThis kid had the potential to be an all-conference player for us on either side of the ball. He had the speed an agility to be a stud DB for us as well. But, it's been a long time since I've been around a kid who was so uncoachable. He asked us repeatedly why he wasn't getting varsity reps and we told him he'd get them when he started acting like a varsity athlete.

If they went somewhere else wouldn’t the 5 week clock reset?

This. If they go somewhere else and that school lies then they are immediately eligible. Which is what happened with some of our kids. It's frustrating but it's the world we live in, I guess.

What's the lie? Permanent residency? Reason for the move?
