Composite balls become a greased up pig in the rain, would not recommend.

Maybe they differ from company to company but we like them better in all weather.

...worse if it's cold.
Like trying to handle-throw a big oval ice cube.

NYS has to use a certain ball in the playoffs. I'll check. You can use leather or composite of that brand. I want to say spaulding but I may be wrong.

Composite balls are crap, and in some cases not that much less than a leather ball. Instead of a GST, use a TDS ball in practice.

Kramer used to make a ball wax that we would use. Apply it with a cloth, let it sit 7-10 minutes, use a good brush, and the buff em up with a large towel. Me and a couple of others would do this on game day morning. Worked well for us.

Composite balls become a greased up pig in the rain, would not recommend. Exactly, make sure they have the NFHS logo on it, and use them as your Kick Off Balls in a game.

Program with basically zero budget. I was able to get 4 of the gst leather, and someone donated 4 of the composite. We kicked composite off all year long.
