Hey guys outside of football what type of activities do you or your parent group organize with your team for team building events? This could be in the morning of after school or on a weekend.
Thanks

Here our captains and parent group do a good job with team stuff before the season starts. They organize a pool party at the rec center/water park here in town and most of the team will show up.
At a previous school I was at we hired a guy who did team building activities with the boys. The volleyball team also brought him in (where I got the idea from) and then we split the cost. He did two hours with us and two with the girls.

Not even joking... we just did our camp 2 weeks ago and we modified the board-game "Cranium" so that multiple kids had to draw/sing/sketch/etc... and the kids had an absolute blast playing it. We split into DL, LB, DB, and Coaches. Let them pick their character on the board, everything.
Couple of kids got nicknames (good and bad) out of it for things they could or couldn't do When the coaches won, all the kids wanted to compete for 2nd, 3rd, 4th place Team that took 3rd celebrated like they won the superbowl when they finally finished and weren't in last.
It was a lot of fun and the kids had to step outside their comfort zone a lot.

Take them swimming (we have a pool at our schoo). Take them bowling. Take them to a movie (we do this in the playoffs). Main Event, large game room the size of a Wal Mart.
Anything that will allow them to interact with each other and have fun.

I still contend a Tough Mudder or similar event is the absolute best.

I think we are going to do a golf tournament...at our local mini-golf.

We took our kids paintballing last month. It was awesome! We divided into teams and played tournament style. It was cool to see them huddle up in between games to strategize then work together to execute their plans. They were taking about it for weeks.
