Coaches,
I got the phone call today. Two weeks from now I will be interviewing for a HC positon. This will be my first interview experience. It is a committee-style interview, and I have previous experience working with the AD (which could be a positive or negative if he still sees me as an assistant and can't get beyond that).
I have already submitted a resume and some good letters of recommendation.
I have started to put together a packet of samples to hand out to the interview committee which includes:
1. Philosophy Page 2. Coach's Behavior & Priority Commandments 3. 4-Year Plan 4. Sample O and D practice schedules 5. Installation Schedule sample 6. Coaching Org chart 7. Sample Scouting Report 8. Sample O and D call sheets 9. Player's Behavior Code
Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions or materials or questions that are sure to be asked, I will appreciate any and all help you have to offer.
Thanks, men!

loch-
i wish you luck in your interview. I too will be gooing through the same process within the month for our HC position. My packet is fairly extensive also. I think the only thing i may have not covered is the 4 yr plan. Any ideas on how to make that look professional enough for the committee?

I too am in the very beginning process. Would anyone be willing to share some of their work? Being able to read would give great ideas and help give recommendations.

Thank you for all the advice and well wishes. I'll do my best to make everyone proud.
Coach, the "4 year plan" is just a one-page sheet that bullits each of the action items or goals that I want to have in place over the next four years. Included are things like booster club action items, relationship building with the youth programs, development of a Jr. High program, etc. It's nothing too fancy, but it gives a good 1-page outline of what your long-term vision is.

Get your material professionally bound at staples or some other office store in the school colors. Make a header and footer on each page using the school color and logo. Make all the material persoanlized with the interviewers names.

sls-
nice idea. I did the basics of writing everything with their names and pica and usch, but being from a smaller town, i will need to travel 2 hrs to get to any form of office supply store.

Does your school have a meda center? Buy some really nice presentation portfolios at Walmart. Not quite as good looking, but still will look good.
