Ok, since football is over and withdrawls are setting in ;D, it's time to doodle and hash over sound concepts and turn them into wild and unique concepts...evolution is sometimes a crude process, so here's a shot at modifying the now popular spread into a 4 way option attack, leaving both DE's unblocked and using a F back that can run the option or a second QB at F. I've not seen it done and wonder how it would look at full speed. Any other wild idea's out there? I'm thinking the LT could read the DE by alignment, if he was a hard crash threat or slanting inside he could seal him down instead of pulling and the F would read the N for pitch.

I've actually done this.. I have even ran a reverse option with the QB being the pitch man for the guy running the reverse.. I have a pretty wild imagination..
A couple of years ago we completed a 35 yard pass on a play off the bucksweep out of the wing-T
Faked bucksweep and handed on the counter sweep to the WB.. he went left and reversed the ball back to the SE.. The SE then went right and reversed it back to the QB who threw it down the field to the FB. It was crazy that we did not fumble the hand offs and even more crazy that we were able to catch it.. But not crazy that he was wide open..
Would have scored but it wasnt a great pass and he had to come back for it and some alert kid ran down and made the tackle.

ran a double handoff reverse and an option downfield for a 40 yard game from a direct snap dw once...we then faked a reverse by having the tb pull the ball around his back (like a basketball point guard) as he faked...td.

I came up with this formation: Double tight /Shot-Gun/Empty Set It could be used in the Red zone Pass Plays you can run off it: Any pass route you can think of. Bootleg pass It's obvious you don't have a HUGE selection of run plays but you could run: QB keep QB counter Sweep with either the TB or Z Double reverse I can't think of any anything else. Curious, DC's how would you defend this formation?

if the QB is Vince Young, i would just open up a doorway and let him in so my offense can get the ball. If a non-running QB (like Lienhart) then blitz!

Here is the sweep with the TB. The QB is used in the dive action. Man I'm bored...
