I used to be a college coach and spent a lot of time recruiting. In fact, it was my favorite part of the job. I couldn't help but notice how much time the coaches had to spend trying to get together players' test scores, highlight films, etc. to give me a good picture on each kid. Here is what I am proposing:
Hire a guy, (preferably with college recruiting experience and knowledge of the requirements of each level and extensive knowledge of video equipment), to spend all day, (not teaching a class), fielding phone calls from colleges and meeting with college coaches. This guy would have a file on every junior and senior in that high school. He would have all his test scores, highlight films, class schedules, personal information, etc. right there on hand so that when a coach calls, he can send it out as a packet, or if a coach wants to meet with the kid or come by and pick up the packet, you're right there to do that. The packet could also include an evaluation from his position(s) coach and/or head coach and teachers. Basically, you're the recruiting coordinator. All you have to do is handle that all day and coach. Wouldn't that be a great position? And don't you think that would be a great way to get all of your kids on to the next level. You could even market your kids during the spring, trying to get them in camps and get the juniors noticed for their senior year. What do you guys think?

What do you guys think? we have such a person on our staff. except for the "not teaching class" part and the "all you have to do is handle that position" part. other than that, we have that guy..... it's me!!!!!!!!!!

That's what I'm talking about. Why should a coach that teaches classes or head coach have to do all of that? I'm sure that you could convince the school board that if all of their kids will get more looks, they would approve that job.

LOL...I hear ya. I'm just dreaming I guess. Maybe those big school districts that have five or six high schools would benefit from it a lot more than a one-school district. Then you could probably justify one person doing the work of five or six.
