Any coaches participating in a spring league? How are you holding up?

I am Coach. We are off this week, game wise due to Easter week. But so far so good. Single winging it. Won our season opener last week 24-0.

Just finished our second game of the season (we still played even though its Easter weekend). So far so good on our part as well, running the single wing as well with success. Running the wide tackle 6. We're 2-0 but schedule is looking to get tougher.

Since we're down here in SA,TX. Someone might call it something different, but it's fun for the kids. .....T.G.C.1.2.3.4....... .............F....P......W.. ..........S................... I have 4 different kids I can move all around in the backfield. All run my "Superback" position very well. Guess you can say we have a "4 headed monster" backfield. Lol. Having an extra week to prepare should help us out though. We have about 5 more games left, then Playoffs.

We run a similar look, haha. Been wedging as our base.
...T G C G T T E.... ............3...........4 ........1..2..............
I have a question, and its not to toot my own horn, but I'm having a hard time trying to pick up what other teams are running against us.
How do you go about that?
I can't tell what their philosophy or play still is during the game so it gets hard to adjust at times

I had to throw wedge out the window for now, as we're having the hardest time with the snap to the FB. Power is our main play. Been great for us.
And when I call a play, 80 % of it is Down & Distance and how often I've run something. But the other 20 % is just by watching if they have shifted there line or the LBs are over spilling to your playside. Usually it's pretty easy to see if they are shifting there line cause you'll usually here the Coach for them yelling that out. It'll also been pretty easy to know if you know that team's HC was scouting you the previous week before. It's extremely hard for me to see all that as the HC/OC so I will later on get one of my assiant coaches to about 20-30 yards behind the defense (on the sideline) and just see what they're doing pre & post-snap.

Have you seen the DWS video demonstration of a SW snap on the coachsomebody dot com web site? About 2/3 of the way down the home page on the right. I think it was the 2014 DWS. Long time SW coach from South Carolina is demonstrating how he does it/teaches it.

How about having him hold onto the ball at the snap's end while the FB takes it from him? In other words, the FB comes forward to meet the ball with his hands.
