This is a great way for the district to say thanks for all you do. Take the time off and take them to court when they refuse your request. Best of luck with the newborn.

Knighter- can't say much more than what's been already said other than the fact that it sounds like your admin is a *$(@#(*%. Do want to say congrats on the little one though. Nothing better than being a dad.

Congrats Knighter and family.
A wise man once told me "If a decision does not make sense, it is about money."
Best of luck with the family and enjoy your time.
We preach Family First to all our players what kind of role models would we coaches be if we did not do the same.
Sorry administration does not see it the same way.

So my wife is being induced on Monday afternoon next week. I have been told that I am allowed 1 emergency day for the birth of my child, any more days I want to take off are personal days, and I have to pay for my sub. So basically I feel as though I am being "punished" for wanting to be a good husband and father. Way to talk about family values, and not practice what you preach administration. Knighter, first of all, the most important thing- congratulations. I have no advice to add but I have to say that it sounds like your teaching contract really, really sucks. How many sick days do you get per year?

Two words...Title 9. If a female can miss an unlimited amount of days due to birth, so can you. Could it be discrimination? . Title IX has nothing to do with this!!! Nor does a woman have unlimited time off in a birth situation. FMLA applies equally to men and women and provides unpaid leave in a host of situations. Knighter....who did you piss off at GH? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Congrats to you and your wife!

Brad,
God bless you and your family. Just do what you know is right, and the rest will take care of itself.
