they won't do it for the coaches, but if it affects their peer culture they will....
You have to create an environment where each player is accountable to the rest of the team. That they are not just embarassing the school / coach, but each other.

I dont think this has anything to do with his older brother. He is just an immature kid in way over his head. I am glad VT got rid of him. I wish the NFL had some kind of rule about this. Make him set a year without getting into trouble again. Some sort of probation before he is eligible for NFL play. It might help to keep some of these immature kids out of trouble if there are very tangible penalties at the next level.
