This Friday (tomorrow) will be my first time ever being a spotter in the box. We have talked as a staff about what they want me to look for and I think I'm ready but still a little nervous, any suggestions and/or funny stories about being in the box (we are on the road too btw)....

- If you partake of the, ummm, Nicotiana Tabacum make sure the roof doesn't slope towards the fans
- If you are playing a tough opponent, make sure the video camera's mic is turned off
- It better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it, it's a long way back down the ladder
- even this time of year, sunglasses because the sun sets on the press LOOOONG after it does on the field

During series, especially on offense tell the OC what you are seeing. Is the backside DE staying home, how deep are the corners, how do they respond to motion, what front are they in, where are the safeties? Stuff like that. Between drives give play suggestions like they backside end is crashing so we could boot leg with little effort. If you have a suggestion have a back up the reason you like it.

- No unnecessary chatter. Keep commentary to yourself.
- Keep track of timeouts by both teams.
- Your job to make sure all 11 are on the field.
- Help with special teams.
- Get double ear headphones.
- Don't sit near anybody if there's no press box.
- Make sure the windows are closed if you're near parents.
