1. Linemen - Varsity numbers aren't bad but the majority of them are green.
2. Leadership - Trying to develop it, but we don't have a ton of "natural" leaders
3. Consistent Attendance - We are an inner city school so our guys have issues sometimes out of their control or they have to work to put food on the table. Trying to balance that and having to be at practice, fundraise, etc...is a challenge.
4. Injuries - We've had little nagging injuries here and there and haven't put the pads on yet. Our depth is going to be tested heading into scrimmages next week, for sure.

Complacency!!!!! We have been to the state title game the last 2 years, winning last year. Most of our kids have played or been on the roster for both trips. They have worked really hard in the weight room but a couple of our really good kids have the idea that we'll win just because of who we are. We will be the favorite this year and our kids know we'll win our district pretty easy. We just have to have some leaders step up. Graduated 2 kids last year that our team would follow anywhere. We need that again if we are going to get where we want to go. I'm worried we'll run into a team like us last year that is hungrier than us. Compared to the majority of posts on this thread, you seem to have "good problems."

In the grand scheme of things its not to bad but you're always looking for the things that will bring you down.

I still can't get over this. we had a horrible thing happen. basically, we had TEN new coaches brought it. one new guy-a young guy straight out of college- brought in a huge ego and was insulting guys, yelling, putting them down and within a week 3 of our best player had left the team citing it as the reason.
