why does it have to be so expensive? It has to a streaming data issue for them to charge so much. Doesn't it? expensive? $12 for 700 videos? if you did the next month, $25 for unlimited viewing of videos? compared with $40 for one (the cheaper DVD's)... Not to be too terribly $h!tty but, seriously? they just created a product where you can watch EVERY video - regardless of how many times - and, let's be honest, who cares how old they are at this point ... because it's ONLY $12. pony up the cash, watch & take notes on everything you can for the next 30 days and wash your hands of the thing if you want, but complaining about their introductory price? come on just my guess, but before they sink tons of money into this, they need to see if there will be an end result worth having. I'm guessing, the number of members will determine how often & how many new videos they upload.

$11 is expensive? Even $24/mo isn't expensive particularly if there is no contract.
If they can get the Glazier clinic webinars on there, then I'd probably sign up (Coaches Choice videos have always been fluff, IMO)

why does it have to be so expensive? It has to a streaming data issue for them to charge so much. Doesn't it? Expensive? Really? I went to two clinics this year. Both cost a lot more than $25 and, although both were very good clinics, neither gave me a choice of 700 lectures.

Not just the choice of 700 lectures, but the ability to see each and every one of them.

Sorry to cause a stir but I can't afford that. Even for a month. Wasn't complaining about the product, but Netflix does for under 10 all year. How do they do that, and this company can't? It was just a question. Just curious, sorry.

Sorry to cause a stir but I can't afford that. you must be a coach Netflix does for under 10 all year. How do they do that, and this company can't? pretty sure Netflix is a monthly deal at $8/mo signup.netflix.com/HowItWorksI'd imagine they could do this for $3/mo.....but you have a market that shows a level of comfort for under $15 / mo and people may not even blink. 700 videos? Its a start. Its a niche genre, where else can you go for this service? no where. It would (IMO) be a way to get a higher return on the production investment while at the same time stave off the black market trading of these videos (loss)

It was just a question. Just curious, sorry. It's a numbers game. Supply/demand. Surely you understand that part of economics. If your target audience is ginormous (Netflix - the entire free world, basically) you can keep costs down because a gazillion people will buy it - thus, giving you plenty of revenue. (the microsoft approach) If your target audience is small (football blix - a small genre of coaches) then you won't be getting near as many people signing up so you have to charge more per member to make up the cost difference. watch what will likely happen if more and more coaches sign up and continue to keep their membership active ... bet prices come down. supply/demand Now, pack a lunch a few times a month, go out to dinner one less time, eliminate the starbucks once a week - and, bam, you've got $12 extra bucks. supply/demand

If you have a SmartTV connected to the internet, can you stream from the tv? Coach, I have an Apple TV setup and I can not do that, but the Apple TV doesn't have a built in browser either. I can use Air Play to play directly from my tv/iPad/iPhone. Not sure if any other smart Tvs do?

I wonder what the business side of that is. I cannot imagine that is going to help dvd sales. to be honest, most of those weren't worth the $40-50 price tag for 30 minutes of actual clinic Most aren't worth 20 pct of the price. if one is really want info, you can find it, and for free. And I think they will make more this way, than the 40 dollars for a dvd that 98 pct of the time is trash.

I really have never been as impressed with DVDs as I have from those who sat and wrote a book. I learn more from the books also. DVDs tend to skim and be more general

The new production stuff is a waste of time unless you have no knowledge of a subject.

eh, sorta ... it's $12 for 1st month (11.90-something) and then $24.99 after that. Think you sign up on a month-by-month basis. Pretty sure they don't have any long-term commitments, at least that I know of. It would be nice to lock in say, $25 month or $275 per year ... something like that where you get a month free if you go long term. Hoping that if enough coaches "commit" to this thing that coaches choice will add more and more videos and give subscription packages. It looks to me like it's $11.99 a month for one person, but $25 a month for everybody on staff to access it.

I've signed up and watched a couple of videos so far.
I love the site, but it is frustrating that they'll have all but one video of an entire series. Like the Mark Speckman series on the Fly, which is missing the first part, or the Tim Murphy Double Wing series, which is missing the 3rd part (the one on the actual blocking progressions). Part of me wonders if this has been done to try to encourage you to buy those videos so you can have the whole thing.
I'm not going to complain too much, though. There is well worth $11 of stuff on there. If it takes off and they could put more contemporary stuff on there, or work out a deal with Championship Productions to include some of their stuff, it'd still be a bargain at twice the price.

It's not amazing/end-all/be-all/change the world, but there's some decent material and I thought worth the $11.
The Petrino passing game one was solid, and I liked the Scott Shafer defensive videos as while they weren't super detailed they were fairly comprehensive in terms of a few different things and rules, etc for each.
I'd appreciate any recommendations.

Just watched an absolute classic on the website: Chuck Klausing: Football's Game Winning Trick Plays. Fantastic and entertaining. I had a great time just watching this old timer tell stories about trick plays from the past. Guaranteed to get a laugh or two!!

I agree. 25 bucks a month is kinda exspensive. Net flicks is 9, so wonder what the deal is?

Yeah, sorry when I posted from phone saw were I was still on page 1.... think it might be something to try a couple months, but nothing long term. Some of videos not worth the time it takes to watch them.

Yeah, sorry when I posted from phone saw were I was still on page 1.... think it might be something to try a couple months, but nothing long term. Some of videos not worth the time it takes to watch them. That's probably another reason that the price is somewhat high. I doubt that many people will sign up long-term. The timing wasn't great, either. Once the season starts in a few weeks who has time to watch instructional videos?
