Currently teaching psych, AP US Govt, and Geography. During the season, I had a section of Govt to replace the geography. I love social studies and don't mind the grading too much but having 4 preps a year for the last 3 years is a bit draining. I'm also our head wrestling coach, so I'm pretty ragged by the time wrestling is over.

my license is in K-12 Special Education Mild-Moderate
I also have enough credits to teach Psychlogy also I dont know how practical it would be to take the praxis since I dont know of many districts who hire a teacher just to teach Psych.

CA = All Math and All Science K-12 UT = Chemistry and Physics Chem Major... Utah doesn't give out a credential in a subject unless you take like 30 hours of coursework in that subject. CA just requires Teaching License and a passed CSET (Praxis Equivalent). Passed 10 of them in CA so I could teach ANYTHING. Now I just teach Chemistry & Astronomy. They are adding a period of Physics 2013-2014. So your school doesn't have any physics courses at the moment? WTF?

English. I am pretty much certain that I'm going to get into PE as soon as I can, grading during football season is just brutal.

High School Social Studies and Driver's Ed. Would love to someday be a majority Driver Ed, but our student enrollment numbers don't allow for it now. Got my Driver Ed cert about 6 years after I got out of college. I think if I had to do it again, I'd have went into PE and Driver Ed. You don't know how many days I wake up and wish I could wear sweat pants or track pants to work that day. I forgot to add that's a major benefit I wear basketball shorts or sweats every day Getting dressed in the morning takes all of 30 seconds and I'm comfortable all day Plus I get to work out with my classes a little during the day and I feel like it helps keep my weight stable even when I pig out

Awesome responses. I am currently going for english (7-12). English just cones easy to me. I have always lived history and social science though; speech is also a subject thats comes natural to me. Don't know if i want to spend another year or two for a endorsement in it. I am still a freshman in college; want to get endorsements but dont know which ones? help? lol. also ive wanted to spread my wings and leave iowa sometime. im guessing every state has different stipulationa for teaching in their state?

Elementary PE. Best job in the world. It is pretty fun. Can be draining at times. Discipline is fairly easy because kids WANT to be there Not to complain since I have a job, and love it for the most part, but you need to come and experience some of my PE classes. 40 Kdg kids for 55 mins. I am shaking, talking to myself and walking in circles by the time that is over!!!!!!

I was hanging out with three kindergarten teachers at a SB party. We came to the consensus that they should all be issued a border collie to help them out.

I have 32 11-12 yr. old boys in a small gym. I do have another teacher that helps me with crowd control, so it pales in comparison to that. That many kindergarteners for that long......I'd need to be fitted for my straightjacket.

Did I mention it's inner-city with 100% free lunch and no kidding about 15-20 ELL kids in that class? Yeah sometimes I think the universe hates me.

Taught H.S Phys Ed. /Health for 8 years. Last year was moved to one of four Dean of Discipline positions in our school. Drawbacks.. shirt and tie everyday now (shorts/t-shirt was my attire forever, and one of the main reasons why i became a p.e teacher!),and MUCH more work for me to do (inner-city h.s with alot of discipline issues). That being said, I love the job because I get to deal with the entire student body rather than just my individual classes, and I can circulate and monitor my players much more effectively..as well as handle their discipline flare ups.

HS PE/Health Taught Driver Ed in previous jobs. Love the Sweats everyday. Teach Everything from Self-defense to Sex Ed. Really love my Fitness and Conditionng class- I make the kids work and they eat it up. "More Sandbell" is the call from kids during warm-ups great kids! I struggle with the general lack fitness kids enter school with, but it is my job to improve that and I focus on it. Teach 9-12 and I get all comers. Island of misfit toys at times. Kid going to Holy Cross next fall next to a kid that physically cannot jog. Makes for challenging units. Certified to be AP/AD when I cannot do this anymore mentally of physically Admin here I come. But until then lets learn the proper technique for the Snatch or Clean.
