Northern Illinois is good money and good football. Nationally ranked teams every year and teacher/coaches making over $100,000 in the suburbs of Chicago.

bucky, I never knew coaches/teachers were paid so well in Illinois. Are you referring to just head coaches or what?

You had better have your MAsters...I just turned down the Head Football Job at DeKald H.S. Where North Ilinois University is located, Teach 5 Classes 47,000.......Here in Texas....1 Class 2 athletic Periods....almost 60,000...what would you do...for me it was an easy decision...
In Illinois when you have a Masters and teach/coach in Naperville etc. you get paid well

Have coached in Montana Minnesota and California
money (50+) as an assistant and teacher and weather (80's) the best in Cali fan support good in Minnesota and pay was middle of the road (low 30's) weather stunk (rain, wind, and below zero in late season)
LOVED Montana...Horrible pay (low 20's) fairly cold weather at the end of the year..but kids live to play and fan support was AMAZING...in a town of 6000 we would get 3-4000 on a Friday night and probably 1000 on saturaday for JV game...of course there wasnt much else to do...Im still trying to get back there

I would say any place that allows Spring football would be a good place to coach high school football. Not Virginia!!!
In Virginia, there are some great athletes but the coaching is not what it should be. There are not a lot of creative minds out there.
