It doesn't really matter what you eat the afternoon before the game AS LONG AS:
1. it includes plenty of water. 2. doesn't irritate the bowls. 3. isn't overly "heavy" and you don't over eat. 4. isn't heavy with sucrose.
The most important time to eat BEFORE a Friday game is from Sunday-Thursday night. During that time, you should be loading up on CHO and H20.
CHO loading 4 hours before the game and believing that it will improve performance is complete folly.
Post-game meals are perhaps more important to aid in the recovery process. Those meals can be any "balanced" meal that is heavy in CHO and protein.

We eat pregame at Jacks. We eat two cheeseburgers or chicken finger snack.
