Ill tell you what is frustrating. If you are a head coach and suddenly forced to be an assitant to someone else who is all easy going and loosy goosy ( for an all star game for example) then things can get frustrating. who, when, where , what and why are things I like to have answered and on my own time line , not someone elses ha ha.

Ain't another job like it. Would like to make more money, to be more comfortable (but who wouldn't) But, there is nothing i would rather be doing. Hell, if we were really in it for the money i think there would be alot less of us on this board.

After being a varsity assistant for 11 years and being at a couple of different locations (due to lack of teaching positions in my field in the school where I originally started coaching)
This last year I assumed the title of 9th grade HC and maintained the position as offensive line coach (my specialty). I am not sure this was the right decision, because I have always been a varsity Oline coach and coaching 9th grade is a lot less grandiose, but still has an impact into the success of the program. I am still not sure that it is the right move, but after reading TD's post it seems to make sense, because all of the stuff he is talking about is making a lot of sense to me as I am experiencing all of those things, but on a much smaller more contained level.
The varsity coach is currently with the oline the most and he asked me the other day if I wanted to be just the oline coach and have someone else be the 9th grade coach. To be honest I am not sure, I just told him at this point I was happy to be so involved with the program and to have such an integrated role.
TDmaker, thanks for the post.
