Well, there have been two people that have turned me on to the game, ever since before I could walk. My father would tell me stories about his playing days in high school. I was just this little kid in amazement of the stories he told.
Also, I kinda taught myself a lot too. Let's just say that Brett Favre and the Packers has been one of my biggest teachers of the game of football.
As of now, my influences are General Neyland, Knute Rockne, John Wooden, Lombardi, among many others. I might be young, but I think any coach in any era can take a little something from all those coaches.

Coach Dan Crume. He's a great guy that is very knowledgeable about not only the game but how to teach kids how to live their lives the right way. He has always been very active in players lives and is a great influence to young men. He is the kind of coach that will do anything for a player, anytime, anywhere!

My father, who was a high school coach in Texas for more than 40 years. I know it is cliche, but he has forgotten more football than I will ever know.
If it wasn't for his 2 knee replacements and 1 hip replacement, he would be trying to coach today at age 77. Won first game this year as first-year HC and ran up in the stands to give him the game ball.
Thanks Dad!

Anyone who will take a moment of their time to tell me something helpful or new. These are the people I have learned what I know so far, and there is much much more.
A lot of appreciation to this site right here. Thank you.
Right now, my son and I play NCAA on PS2 and we play with his little football figurines and he is learning alot that way. Some day he will play youth football. I think he can start flag football next year. He loves to record Boise State games on the DVR and then watch them over and over. I have the last Iron Bowl game that Bear Bryant coached in at Alabama that Bo Jackson started in as a freshman on DVR and he loves watching that game.
Sometimes I have to turn it off and force him to watch cartoons. he could play the trumpet in high school for all I care, we just play football together because it something we both like.
I wish I could get him the electric football game for christmas, but they are hard to find.

I probably got my love for football from my father who was the statistian for the local HS football team who had played for the head coach. The HC, Joe Ross, and his AC, Kenneth Roof, were the ones that really taught me the intricasies of football and developed my love for the game even more--so much that I decided I wanted to be a coach in 1962, my senior year in HS. All three of these men taught me more than football--they also taught me how to be a man and what it means to be a person of worth. They all taught me about the game of LIFE!!!
