I have been at the same school for 15 years and we have done the same pre-practice and pre-game warm up the whole time. I am looking for anything that might be different but still has plyometrics in it along with a stretching period after. We have been a team that lines up in 11 lines and faces the other team. Like I said I am looking for ideas for something different?

Run your plyo/stretching lines from sideline to hash with your defensive players on one side and offensive on the other.

Here a way you can keep it simple jog forward, back and side to side. Movement stretch forward, back, side to side IE. high kicks, lunges over do it. then speed up the movement to get to game speed.

anybody out their not stretch?? We don't. We used to do the static stretches (since I was in school and I'm sure long before). Last year, we did plyos. No injury problems with either, but I wanted more "football" in my practice, and wanted to cut down time on the field. Now, QBs throw to SEs with half-speed routes, then run routes. RBs do bird dogs, shoulder skills with blocking dummies, and a handoff drill. O Linemen do bird dogs, shoulder skills, stance & starts, etc. We do football activities to warm up, rather than plyos. The idea is to do drills at a pace that will warm them up and cover skills/indie work at the same time. **I have no data or studies to back up how I do it**

Oh, and the kids run around before practice with dreams of being punters, so they tend to loosen up then, as well.
