Very impressed with the new Glazier Drive. We have access to the old Vault site, but Drive has a ton of new material. Coach, Did you buy the new one? Or were you able to do the free preview? I signed up for the preview, but haven't been able to access it yet today. Been using the free preview off and on all day, but will be joining. $7/month is a no brainer

They gotta do what they gotta do. When a majority of your customers are facing not having to use your product for a season I'm sure there are decisions to be made to keep the business running. I got no beef with HUDL like some guys do, maybe cause I've been doing this longer than I care to admit, never worried about the 100s of hours of bootleg film I was hiding on there or really get to crazy with the data entry aspects of it. As long as I can fire up and device with an internet connection and watch film they got our money. Maybe it's because lots of people never had to deal with VHS/DVD exchanges or live scouting games and all that hassle. I'm fine with them trying to keep their business model floating. Can only imagine the outrage if they went under... I actually didn't mind film exchanges.

Like many companies, Hudl is extremely nervous about a significant drop in subscription revenue if sports aren't played. Why would anyone pay an annual subscription if our season's cancelled? To help mitigate the revenue loss, they've devised a clever plan to ask schools to upgrade to a full athletic dept package for all sports. These plans cost between $8,000 and $25,000 per year but they'll give you the first year for free (pay what you paid on your last invoice). But wait - there's more! If you accept this full school offer before Sept. 1, you'll get a 25% discount if your football season is cancelled. I think we'll go for the 100% non-renewal discount if our season's cancelled Kidding aside, it's not a bad offer if your school was thinking about upgrading.

I've seen your stuff on X&O's before, not even going to give em a plug?? Lol nope. That's how good the Bill Williams videos are. Coach - I'm looking into re-joining FCPGA. Do you know how I can see a list of current videos available? Hopefully his son Kyle's still doing clinics and videos with him. He's a very good teacher too.

I am leading towards the art of coaching because of all the clinics with sound prensenations. At $7.50/mo. it's seems worth a try. Please let us know how it goes.

We were an FCPGA member for several years, many years ago.
It honestly was the best, most detailed teaching videos we've ever studied.
I didn't realize Bill still creates teaching tape.
Could someone point me to a list of videos available for his Video rental membership? Trying to understand what videos he had available was always the most frustrating part with being a member. Organization was never one of their strong suits.

Question is there any app or downloads that dont have swear words in them? would love to include music at practice but even radio edits and pandora adult settings are unreliable. i would rather not have to download and edit every song myself. We've used Pandora with explicit music turned off for several years and only had one time it let a bad song through. We've tried using Spotify but it doesnt play the radio versions, it removes all songs with explicit lyrics. With top hip hop stations it'll end up only playing about 3 songs over and over.

Interesting. What is the range? Do you have it on a stand? No stand is needed - it has wheels and retractable handle for rolling it around. The bluetooth range is only about 50 feet, so I place my iphone directly on it. We remotely control the volume, pause/play, etc. from an apple watch, but of course you don't have to use a watch -- you could manually control it. It's not the loudest speaker we've ever used (100 watts), but it's good enough to hear all over our field. It is the most rugged speaker we've used.

We love playing music during practice. Seems to add more energy for the coaches and players. We have fun alternating days between the kids' music and the coaches' music, but be sure to use Pandora with explicit lyrics turned off. Here the weatherproof unit we currently use - www.ionaudio.com/pathfinder2-greyYou guys use 1 or multiple? just 1

I've been told by a former Vicus rep that they still have the reconditioning team working at the company.
There's also a couple independent reconditioning companies who will certify the Vicus helmets.

Crazy to think Needham and Wellesley just played their 132nd turkey day game. The 1st one was played in 1882!

We absolutely love the tradition of our Thanksgiving day rivalry game! Last year we had our state championship game the following week, but we still played our starters in the first half and ended up pulling out a win. Our opponent didn't dress their starters for TGiving, then ended up losing the state title game anyway. My alma mater in Mass. just played its 109th TGiving day game vs their rival. It's amazing the number of generations that have played in these games. Hope the tradition never goes away. Agree - we've had the tradition every year if we win we walk the mile back to the high school with the trophy. Cars beeping horns, walk into a couple establishments everyone is excited. Ours just had the 87th game. I think rivalries that have more tradition and history are more likely to see starters play, there's a lot on the line where as the younger rivalries of 1-2 decades doesn't have the same feel within the community (just my opinion). The history and stories I hear every year at hall of fame dinner that Tuesday before and seeing the seniors on Wednesday night with team mass and team dinner, it's a special week especially in our city. Most games are close, records don't matter, and weird stuff happens all the time. One year a 0-9 team tied a 7-2 one. This year, 3min in on 4 consecutive plays there were 4 turnovers (2 each team). We ended up losing game even though we were probably better team throughout the season, other team just had a couple plays that ended up turning into points and we couldn't score. Anything happens. Your city has a great thanksgiving rivalry! Love the tradition and passion!

So, how do the teams that don't make the playoffs procede? When does regular season end? Do they not pick up equipment until then? What about Winter sport athletes? Weeks 1-7 are used to determine non-playoff and playoff (including position ranking) teams. Non-playoff teams play weeks 8, 9 & 10 in a non-playoff bracket. This works well for teams who are having a down year. They play teams with similar records. Playoff teams are placed in a 3-4 tier, single elimination bracket. The winners continue while the loser plays another team who has lost. Week 12 is the Thanksgiving rivalry game. Week 13 is the state championships. IMO the system has worked very well except for having the state title game after TGiving. Hopefully we'll be able to start the season a week earlier and have the title games before turkey day.

For over 25 years of coaching, our TGivings game was our most important game of the year. It was an honor to finally be in the exclusive group of teams who would be playing in a state final the following week. How do Thanksgiving day games work for teams that don't make the playoffs? I am not knocking it, but as I said, it seems odd that a great tradition can have backups in the game for 3/4ths of the action. Every team in Mass. has had a TGiving day rivalry game for many, many years (whether they made the playoffs or not). The funky thing is the state championship games are scheduled for the week after. So a small group of about 12-16 of the best teams in the state will also have a championship game the following week. Our coaches assoc has been trying to convince the state athletic assoc. to begin the season a week or 2 earlier so the championship games are played before TGiving. Hopefully it'll happen soon.

We have been in the title game before and played our starters the whole game. That's how big it is. There are alumni in town who if had to choose, would choose a Thanksgiving Day win over a State Championship. The Westerly v Stonington game is a pretty cool turkey day rivalry. Isn't it the oldest cross-state thanksgiving day game in the country?

If you want to play around first, make a copy of the game.
Then you can get comfortable with the process and not worry about screwing anything up.

You can download your data before Assist touches the game.
Click on the 3 dots (ellipsis) on the bottom right of the video player and choose Export Data to Excel
Then send it to Assist.
After Assist completes everything, use the import option under the 3 dots. Then match the imported data to your video.
The data you entered before sending it to Assist will overwrite the Assist data, but blank columns will NOT overwrite Assist data.

Outside marking highlights of themselves, idk that kids ever actually watch the game. I don't think they do. At least not on their own. We will watch some of it with them, hit some points, and move on Our players absolutely review the game film and our coaching points before our team meeting. Like everything in our programs, if it's emphasized as important to us, it'll be part of our team culture. A couple of things we do to ensure the players know it's important to us - - talk with them daily about specifics coaching points in the video - whether it's practice video, video scouting reports or our games. - make notes a 2-way communication. Have the players text a coach with the answer to a question in the notes. - have the players choose and share to the position coaches their top 3 and bottom 3 plays from the previous game - have the Manage Team page sorted by Viewing Time on the screen at the start every team meeting - review the previous days practice video with players as they're stretching the following day - quickly review plays with the players during the game

We share it as it uploads. What really irks me is when we lose a game and kids go through and have their highlights selected out before that chit is even done uploading. I know that they're kids and we care more than them, but it annoys me. It's a me problem. This is exactly why we never share our game video until all our coaching points are completed. The players will only review the game once - make it count.
