i need to know if this amount of offense is feasible to run. spread with basically 5 run plays- trap, draw, counter trey, zone, sweep. 5 screens, 3 sprint outs, 14 routes on route tree for numorous combinations.
I-formation, with wedge, trap, counter trey, iso, zone, midline, veer, sweep, same route tree.
10 formations: spread- 2x2, 3x1, 3x2, 2 backs with 2x1, te with 1 back 3 wide I-formation- pro, max I ( both wideouts on one side & te on other) heavy set, where we add another lineman.
no answer will offend me, just need to know before we get started this summer.

yes, especially if they plan on keeping the staff, it would be different if they were bringing in a guy and letting him hire his own asst.

he made a couple of great plays today, but i think that turner kept putting him in some tuff spots with the playcalling on first down

i don't think the bears are doing a good job on 1st down in the second half either by play call or execution. they have constantly been 2nd and long and then 3rd and long.

i know everyone wanted the cops to come and arrest the coach's but i got bad news the d-line coach was a deputy sheriff and the pizza place dropped the charges and charles was never disiplined at all. this was on showtime last fall.

very interesting, i hope our membership can get together and make the changes that will have a positive affect on football. i had heard this on thursday but i'm glad to see it in print. i think with good filmwork this can be a positive temporary solution, your kids can go agaist another team but with you not coaching them, so if you go to a college camp the college coaches coach them and you can review it on film afterwards.

was wondering how mant states have spring football or summer football. i coach in illinois and we are allowed 25 contact days during the summer to do football related stuff, well in the past 3 years we have used 4 of those days to go to a team camp @ southern illinois university, and what a great experience it has been for kids and coaches alike. well learned today that the state association is trying to eliminate participation in team camps. so i was wondering what states do what and when. not that football is bad in illinois but i don't think it gets as much attention that other states give football and i know we are way behind in the attention that the state gives basketball.

i think the summer rule states that you canot coach anyone on your team against another team other than 7on7. your kids can go to a camp and compete against other schools but they will be coached by the instructors/coaches at the camp.

actually the by-laws are not changeing, it's just the interpretation of the by-laws has changed, why? who knows. gannaway is sceduled to speak at the spring IHSFCA clinic and from what i heard they are going to put him on right before the featured speaker. but as of right now we only get 7 on 7 with no pads vs. other schools. if this is the case we all need to ban together and get the by-laws changed, we should be able to do as the basketballers do. if they leave it this way they ought to make basketball play 3 on 3 with just the gaurds and small forward.

this is all very interesting, this past season we had 26 formations, and it seemed like we never had time to work on individual technique's because we were working on timing for new plays.

i am an o.c. for high school team and was wondering how many formations other coach's use? we use a number of formations and i think we have to many, seems like every sunday night at film our whole staff has ideas and wants to add stuff. we end up spending alot of time on new things and end up losing alot of individual time. all input will be greatly appreciated.

can anyone provide a link or know of any studies that compare the injuries of tackle vs. flag, we our really trying to start tackle football at younger ages but the ney seyers say to many injuries with tackle football at the young ages, i frankly don't buy that as a valid argument but i really need some data if we are going to go forward with tackle at the younger ages. any help will be appreciated.

i would like to know what the members here think is the right age to start tackle football. we are having a problem with our flag football not getting alot of kids out in 4th-6th grade classes so we didn't have it this past year (07). wanting to know if 5th grade is to early to have tackle football, alot of this age group went to other area towns to play tackle football, we have a very successful 7th and 8th grade tackle football program and would just expand this to 5th thru 8th grades, alot of the teams we play all have tackle football at the earlier age so finding games would not be a problem. any and all feedback is appreciated.
