We made the switch from a 10 personnel spread team to an under center flexbone team. The last year in spread we went ahead and installed the flexbone at the freshman level. So I would call a flexbone game on Monday night and a spread game on Friday night. We had separate practices so really wasn’t much of an issue.

Big 6 1) IV, 2) Zone dive, 3) Mid double, 4) Mid triple, 5) Toss, 6) Belly then you have 2-3 mixers of your choosing. We run zone option, qb zone option keep, and counter trey. 1 and 2 are blocked similar, 3 and 4 are blocked similar, zone option and zone option keep have the exact blocking scheme as zone dive for the line, then belly, counter, and toss are all different I just installed the flex at a school that has been in the spread for 18 years in about the same time frame as you have. I have over a decade in the offense and can tell you that you will spend most of your first year getting them used to new techniques. You will suck a$$ at IV the first year and lose if you feel like you have to run it to be considered an option team. Even the service academies are getting away from running so much IV. Mid triple is a superior play to IV and should be in your arsenal. The great thing about it is every time you get a rep at mid double you are getting reps for mid triple and vice versa. For the zone schemes your OLine is getting reps on the same blocking scheme every time you run one of those plays and they get really good at it. Plus it's almost the same blocking scheme as IV so you can go into year 2 with a solid base to get good at IV. I speak with an option coach considered one of if not the best guy to go to for this offense weekly and he said first year get good at mid triple, zone dive and toss and you can put up a lot of points. Practice is more important than anything also. You need to know how to do it efficiently and get the kids the looks they will see every day. Know your rule, technique your rule This is great advice. I would go mid triple over inside veer every time if i could only pick one. As some others have said www.flexbonenation.com If your anywhere near Arkansas, go to Harding and watch them practice. They are in mine and a lot of other flex guy opinions the absolute best at running it. Army visited them this last spring. If on twitter follow 3phasefootball , @flexbonenation Last thing is get good at Belly in year 1 it helps attack a lot of the things teams do to stop IV and other option stuff.

Are kids could see them both pretty good. We used both colors, one color was wristband column and the other was number in column.

Sucks, we had a WR move a week before season two years ago. Mom moved in with boyfriend, kid would have helped us win two-three more ballgames. Wound up going to an out of state juco and not making it. If he would have stayed with us would have probably signed with same juco as our QB and still be playing.

BTW, is that Holmes team that ran all over East Mississippi a true Wing T team? It sort of looked like it, but obviously you don't get much of a presnap look from watching the show. Pretty sure they are a flexbone team Yeah, Holmes is flexbone. OC was HC at Ga. Southern at one time. They have had a lot of offensive success against EMCC every year he has been there.

We practice all together. We do spring with our upcoming freshman by themselves and use that to decide we're they need to be. Then once the season starts we will have about 130 kids at practice each day. They all go through same Indy stuff, we will do a brief inside period with them in between two varsity inside periods. We will also go 11 on 11 during some special teams times. So if we are doing PAT and Punt for 10 minutes they will be with the OL and DL Coach for some of that time running our O vs our D. Also dressed just freshman out on our Thursday walk through and they would do about 10-15 minutes of group and then 20 minutes of team. Was kinda crazy getting used to last year (1st year doing it) but once we got kinks ironed out went pretty well. Kids ended year with more knowledge of their position then when we had them separate with only 3 coaches and playing both sides of the ball.

I used snap raise two years ago and everything was good except it took forever to get the rewards for the ones who raised the most in. They had are School address wrong or something and I think my rep had quit. We did it in August and it was like May before we finally got the stuff. Our soccer teams did it this year and did ok with it. I would use it again and just maybe not offer the rewards they offered and do my own maybe.

We punish for lack of effort zero's. So every 4-5 weeks I check their grades and any grade below a 75 I pull up and see why, any zero for no homework or just something they didn't do they get punished for. This at least makes them turn something in usually and helps keep their grades up if they aren't good at tests. In season if I check the first time and they are failing more than one class I talk to them and tell them the next check if they are still failing more than one they will miss playing time.

MS juco's do offer athletic scholarships, most of the time it is combined with Pell or academic type scholarships as well.

I went and watched Navy at Memphis last year and was like a little kid. Made my wife get there way early and watched all pre game warm ups, stood down close n took pics of Reynolds, tried to do a little of both once game started. Pissed some Memphis fans off when I saw the wheel coming open and was standing up fist pumping about the time the ball was released. I did take notes of everything they did In Pre game. Can't wait till they come back next year!

We check grades at 5 weeks and 9 weeks. I look at any grade below a 75 and for every zero they have in that class they get punished. If your failing 2 classes at 5 weeks you have until the 9 weeks is up to pull them up if still failing two classes your suspended for a game.

Yes fisher has 3 sizes, 28" 36" 42" outside diameter
Their 42" weighs 50lbs compared to the rhino rugby that only weighs like 21 at 48"
Would more weight be better for rolling it?

We have a thing that was built for about a grand, it is like a mobile car detail rig. Holds 100 gallons of water and runs off car battery. Fill it up and it lasts for entire practice or game. Can even pull it behind a truck to away games.

We use one I bought off Sam's club for like $800, not the fanciest but does the job and has lasted 5 seasons so far. Battery doesn't charge anymore but we just run an extension cord n plug it in. I love having it everything is on five minutes and helps keep me on schedule.

I liked snap better. They came out filmed a video that was put on and the kids can enter emails in right from there phones, but they offer rewards for money raised and we have yet to get them and it has been several months.
Our fund was s little more generic in that I just talked to a guy on the phone he set stuff up and the I made sure kids put in emails.
We raised a little more money this year with snap but a better job was done by my freshman team than in years past.

Ourfund.us Snap-raise.com
These are two I have used in the past but same general idea as above. They keep 20-30% but send out emails on your behalf. We have raised around 4-5K a year the last 3-4 years with very little work on my part.

We practice a slow safety out of punt, where our punter catches the ball and goes to back of endzone n waits till opponent is close n then steps out. Would have at least considered this in that situation.
The main thing I didn't like about the trick play was they were in empty so Navy knew something was up, plus if they had scored you give Keenan the ball back with just under 2 minutes left and a chance to beat you.

Ours is strictly on enrollment. They reclassify every two years. Top 32 schools 6A next 32 5A, split the rest into 4 classes. Take the 32 and have 4 8 team regions based on geography as much as can be. Top 4 in each region make the playoffs.
