I’ve told this story on here before but there was a coach at my middle school that had a hook that could pinch stuff with where hid arm had been. He coached the line. If you didn’t get in a good stance he would come behind you and reach between your legs and try to pinch your balls. Same thing if you made a mistake, the next play he would come behind you after the qb got the line set. This guy coached there forever and everyone, except the people who he clawed, just laughed it off. That punishment was the worst I ever saw. The ultimate goose.

I have come to the realization that the dog still craps in the yard no matter what. Some schools or programs keeps the grass cut so you can see the problems before you step in it. Other places may look like there are no problems, but that's because the grass hasn't been cut. Before you know it, you're taking a water hose to those nice dress shoes.

I was going to say a good job is one that pays you. A great job has all the other benefits And, if you're going to have to move is it somewhere that you'd want to live. That's a game changer for sure!

IMO: 1). Would it be a school that you would want your children to go to? 2). Will Admin have you're back and help the program. 3). Staff 4). Facilities and Budget

I know they are trying to phase out the Speed/Classic per our rep. They want to move to the ICON helmet which is very similar in protections and cost. We just had to buy around 30 new ones because we had that many go out of date. We also went with then Schutt Vengeance for half of the order because we caught a hella deal on them. Around half the cost of the SPEED/ICON. However they are a super flexible helmet in the ear lob region. You can almost push in each side to touch each other without a face mask. The vision in the helmets are wider IMO from the SPEED/ICON, but would limit to what personnel would wear them. I would not recommend them for a DL/LB type or OL to wear the Vengeance based on what I have seen so far. We will see when Spring ball comes around how they hold up.

What are the "obvious reasons," i.e. why did you kick him off the football team for something he did during school and not on the field?
I assume he could not practice-play during his suspension. To dismiss him seems like Double Jeopardy and going overboard.
"We don't go after one of our own". Completely unprovoked, just did it to do it. Kid is now in counselling and will try out again next year, starting with off-season workouts. School and AD policy is any suspension will be mirrored in athletics. He's not kicked off, booted was poor wording on my part, he's suspended, which ends his season. I really like the "don't go after one of our own." What are some ya'lls "none negotiable items" that will get the players dismissed?

I was told by an old coach that you will find trouble when you add the pronoun you to the explicit sentence.

This past Friday night the 1st play of the drive in the 3rd quarter our left guard got tossed for fighting. His replacement, a JV pull up, went into the game and immediately crapped his pants - literally (he had been battling the stomach flu all week). The kid finished out the game and, despite being on the small side, played very well. Everything went better than expected. Man! Did ya'll throw away the pants or give him a "man-pon" ?

Sounds like one of those recruiting agencies...... I got an email yesterday from a coach at an Ivy League school asking for a transcript on a player. 1. The kid is not playing--he decided to take his junior year off 2. The kid couldn't start for us, much less play for the Ivy 3. The kid's grades aren't any where close to Ivy level How the heck did that school get his name? I'm guessing him or his parents because I sure never sent them or anyone his name. I also another one this past spring who took a trip to Princeton. Kid has a 2.7 gpa. I had one (lineman) the other day ask me about playing college football. I said "Didn't you go to camp at Duke this summer? Did any of their players look like you?" "No"..."doesn't that answer your question for you?"

You're right Morris on the name. I wore one for the same reason, but I had them in my back/neck and shoulder. I also wore a butterfly plate that served the same purpose as the old school roll or cowboy collar. I had way too many (29) and the pain is tough. Mine always felt like I was burning or like the stinging sensation you get when your feet get from "being asleep", but the Dr. is right for sure. He can play as long as he can handle the pain. Proud of the kid being tough! Many would rather not continue that night.

I have been at several places that has this "type" of player. The recent player thought he should be playing because his dad is a bleacher b****er who hammers the kid for not playing A complete snake to the staff in person. This place also had parents worry more about playing time than winning. It just comes down to being selfish.

but what about the assistants who left their jobs to sign with the Colts? Aren't they stuck? That's what I am saying.....Would you want to work for a HC that pulls that stunt?

I would be some kind of hot though if I was one of the assistant coaches he had "hired" who already quit the job they had......That's not right IMO. I think he is scared to fail again stepping out into another team and organization.

Our district's business manager is a stickler which flows down hill to our book keeper. I get it, they are trying to cover their own behinds and have to answer to people I don't want to deal with. Anyway, we spell it out in a form for the parents as to what their fees go to: field maintenance, equipment upkeep/replacement (we try to kl, game socks (the kids love them, they keep these), game day meals (not just a PBJ too), and a gameday shirt they wear and keep instead of a jersey to class at lunch. Our fees are around the same for most schools in our area. However, we have several fundraisers that produces major funds for us.
As for the OP, we have our kids decked out in the same top and bottoms. After this year I don't see us changing as long as the HC and I are here. We have tried the different color/top for different grades. It wasn't what I planned for it to look like.
