Our state basically controls all this now. Two days count as one practice.

I couldn't run with a cup in. Wore one as a catcher but it was out when I was up to bat. Always wore a jock. Swimming, basketball, football and wrestling. I loved the jpad that covered the knuckles and forearm. Neck rolls came out toward the end of my career. We always had to take showers. Had to do push-ups naked in 9th grade pe because someone didn't take a shower.

I would join the NHSSCA. They can set you up with what you would need.

I'd say shipping is gonna be the killer. You will find it difficult unless you get them free shipping. We keep our helmets to the end. If you have a Riddell rep in Australia you might be able to swing it but my guess they don't want old ones out there.

I like the Gillman sled, low boy pads. Pads are narrow at bottom wider at top. Perfect for double teams. Great for flat back get off the ball blocking. Lev sleds break. I've never been a fan of them. You could get on of those at a 5man and get a Crowther 2 man probably for the price of that 7 man. I always loved the Crowther for good Ole wedge and shoulder blocking.

Mo has 4 classes for boys and 2 for girls. Privates are not split. Class 1 girls and 1 and 2 boys this Wed and Thurs. Class 2 girls and 3 and 4 boys Fri and Sat. I forgot to add state divided into 4 districts. Take top 4 at each weight class, 16 per a weight class.

U need a five point move in there. Head and arm throw is easy, later drop not bad, I liked the Japanese whizzer but I've dislocated peoples shoulders with that.

We got boys district this weekend. Boys and girls state next week. I think this is my last year of coaching wrestling. I'm tired of giving up my weekends. I coach middle school then go right into high school. I got out of high school and started helping with our middle school program a couple years back. The season is way shorter, we only do one Saturday, and it's very low stress. It's awesome. We keep it super simple (as others have mentioned) - one takedown series, 1-2 ways to get out from bottom, 1-2 tilts, and then drill the crap out of it. No running, make it fun, get everyone matches. Yes my middle school season is short with only 2 weekend tournaments. We have 3 matches a week for 3 weeks. Practice about 4 weeks before go into matches. It's the high school season I slide into after middle school. All the tournaments every weekend between boys, girls and jv just wears you down. I'm from Iowa, I've wrestled most of my life. I didn't wrestle in college cause I was worn out. I've coached wrestling for a long time. I've also coached basketball. I think I might go back to basketball.

They are all my guys but my online and dline are my postion. I've been only at one school that two platoon. They would still share a stud with each other. You got to have your best 11. If you can get the next group close to that level then platoon or sub out.

The place I first coached at in the mountains of Idaho I would wear winter boots and wool socks and walk one block to school and my feet froze. I did love the smell of pine every day when stepping outside.

This next year I think is 34. Heck I don't know how long I'll go. I actually coached in high school, didn't get paid for it and coached in college as a volunteer. I've been teaching and coaching since 91. I added a third sport this year with track. I figured since my youngest is in track might as well get paid to watch and coach her. I've been head and asst for pretty much most sports out there.

I use to go through Jackson Hole on my way back home to Iowa and Missouri. I was teaching and coaching in Idaho. I usually slept in the parking lot of a hotel because I couldn't afford one of those rooms. If these type of towns haven't figured out how to get housing for their teachers then they are ignorant. We would play Driggs in the playoffs. Your not talking straight roads your talking curvy as crap mountain roads that are not fun in the winter tome.

Blue chip is good, I think Graphic Edge might still be around, they were good. I was not happy with BSN quality or price.

I remember my first year of real football, 7th grade. I was lucky and had a big head so I got a Bike helmet with hard pillow pads in it. Some kids got helmets with elastic bands that looked like a trampoline, outside the ear section was bigger that the helmet. Two clear bars for the face mask and looked like a leather coating. We all had different helmets.
A coach didn't give me a belt so my first practice I ran all over but had to hold my pants up. I said to the coach am I supposed to hold my pants up, he said no you need a belt. He didn't get me one so I used my leather belt. I wore my only shoes, canvas high tops.
One of my favorite drils is where we had a wooden shed by the practice field. The coach would but the defensive line backs to it. Offensive line were to block you, if you gave ground you got driven into it. We had one coach per grade, 7 through 10th grade. About 50 kids each class.
One made me love it, I got to hit a kid that mouthed me and called me fat. I didn't know Dick Butkis but I did that visualization he talked about where my tackles would decapitate the kid.

Best vs best, go just inside. Then just go outside. Then half line. Then you can go 7 on 7. Always have best vs best.

Took over after the guy that was the man before. I thought I did a good job of researching but the man I took over lied to my face about why he gave up hfc. The man was the superintendent and wanted to be the coach again.

It's a all star game, your trying to give kids maybe their last chance to shine. Sadly, that athlete didn't,but you gave him a chance.

Few states want to rip into refs. It's hard to get em in the first place. Just don't hire them again

I really get tired of throwing the ball. Teach the offensive line to have kahones and run block and run the ball.

In the mountains of Idaho most schools play in the day. It's a little cold up there when the sun goes down.

We start off with "stretching". But it's usually a decent workout. Then we do special teams and and get them running. Then we do some conditioning. Then indy, group, team. If you wear their butt out early they talk less. I've coached varsity ball 27 years. I'm on year 5 now for middle school. You got a different beast in ms. As soon as you see some jacking around do a drill where they all work but you bust their butt. County fare conditioning and drills are your friend. I hope this helps.
