Is it this simple ? *Pass out a calendar page for 1 month to each kid *Have them get a sponsor for each day - $1 for the first, $2 for the second, etc.
I like the idea of a person giving $25 for the twenty-fifth plus 25 chances in a raffle.

I've heard about a fundraiser whereby each kid has a calendar page (one month) and tries to get sponsors for each day - $1 for the 1st...$10 for the tenth, and so on. Are any of you guys familiar with this ? Can you give more details ?

I'm actually referring to a Madden video game tournament. I should have been more clear.

Looking at fundraisers for the coming year... Lift-a-thon, some sort of product sales, spaghetti dinner, etc. All are pretty typical. Another one came to mind - and when I mentioned it to my kids, their eyes lit up. A Madden tournament. Is it feasible ? Do you guys see any major snags or problems ? Any advice or insights ?

Thanks for the replies. I realize that some of these are iffy. Are they the cause or the effect ? Are they just by-products ? I still think they are worthwhile topics of discussion with my team. Especially those that the players have control over - like presnap or post-play penalties, for example.

Does anyone have a list of meaningful stats - stats that correspond with winning ? Something along the lines of, "turnover ratio: the team that has the fewest turnovers wins ?? % of the time". Also, explosive plays comes to mind.

Canesfan, love the ideas...gonna get tailgaiting going for sure.

It also entered my mind to have some sort of field goal contest - or field goal opportunity for a pizza or something.

I just got a new HC job. It's a small school and went 0-10 last year. The community has been supportive in the past. But, supposedly, last year was like a morgue on game nights. I want to know what any of you do to make game nights more festive (for lack of a better term). *I know winning will go a long way, but anyway... For example, in my region, Ohio University games are fun to attend. During time-outs, they have a guy with a mike organizing games/contests among fans, etc. But, Marshall games are boring, in my opinion. Is there something you do to make games more alluring to fans ? One thing I'm going to do is make every home game a "____ night"...like youth league night.

I was a GA at a D1 school years ago. The guy I considered the best coach on staff coached DL. In college, he played...2nd base! He definitely never played a single play of football with his hand in the ground either. Oddly enough, the guy we GAs thought to be the goofiest and worst coach on staff was the only one to go on to the NFL.

Are there any WR Camps out there that are worthwhile - both in terms of WR fundamentals and maybe some exposure, too? I live in Ohio. It'd be nice if it were near me...but I would be willing to travel.
