For those of you who have the JV practice with the Varsity doing things such as flipping O and D half way through and splitting the staffs how do you guys get this done and make this change as efficient as possible ?

We had/have a WR like this his last year he was a threat purely from the standpoint that he’s 6’3” but he never really tried hard or applied himself to get better he sorta kinda coasted, took him to a 7 on 7 camp this year so he was going against some of the best kids in the state, couldn’t even get off the press at the line it was a real eye opener for him, told him that the kid who shut him down plays on the best team in our class and he’ll do it again come October, safe to say the kid came into the summer a completely new person along with growing up he took getting better more seriously once he seen that the kids that eat and breath football don't care who you are, turned himself into a team captain and leads the state in receiving yards as a junior right now, any changes that need to be made have to start with the kid wanting to improve

We have a wide receiver that whenever he mosses a DB which is very often he burps in their face, got into a fight last year because of it got the opposing kid threw out, oddly enough is that the kid can burp at will

I'm saying...Swede...that nobody is seeing what these kids are doing at a HS game. Their impact can be felt more, imo, if they start a social justice club, etc. Make a Youtube video about how they feel and post it. What is the end game Swede? In the end...imo, a HS kid kneeling is getting them nowhere. Except everyone saying they are a copycat. Just like everyone trying to catch balls one handed like OBJ. So as coaches why not point the kids in that direction so they can start doing those things

Are we not selling them a bit short? Sure you can make sure that the kids understand what they are kneeling/sitting for before letting them do it, which I believe is a good solution. I just believe that as a white male I can never say what an african american say or do in protest to systematic racism that I will never face, therefore can not understand his point of view. Same goes for sexism against women. You can call my a heart bleeding liberal, but that is my view of the matter. The problem is that we always sell these kids too short and then either don’t know how they feel or what they’re talking about but because what they’re talking about or doing xyz for whatever reason doesn’t sparkle with what we believe in, grew up with or relate to its wrong Not many people know how it feels to have people assume you don’t have a dad, or people hold certain expectations or standards based on things they assume but it’s always the negative things, a lot of these kids have either covertly or out right chitted on to the point where they see life differently, react to others differently, our jobs as adults not just coaches isn’t to bash them or force them into my way or the highway but try to understand them and help them air out their grievances peacefully if it’s taking a knee take one as long as it isn’t a flashy “here I am” deal but to tell a kid that you have to respect something that for 300+ years hasn’t made you or anyone like you feel a part of it unless it’s convienient for them is disrespectful to those kids, oh yeah your American as long as you stand and do as we do but as soon as you don’t your just the Mexican kid again please

We all kneeled last year, the HC made all of the players write and turn in a paper on social injustice before any of them were allowed to take a knee, once all players turned it in and the papers were acceptable they were allowed to kneel

I personally let the players choose as a group what their gonna do they decided to stand but not hold their hands to their hearts but one player took a knee, he said he feels so strongly about the issues at hand so he takes a knee I have no problem with it because as a man you can only stand by your principles and I respect things like that when any of my kids make life or social decisions based on things they believe in their hearts, I also take a knee myself so idk if he’s seen me or not because I’m always in the booth to call plays, we all got booed pretty hard our first away game which took place at a school located in the richest suburb of our area, one of the white players on our team was heckled on social media by some folk from the other school about it his response was “I may not be able to fully relate but they don’t come from where we come from so they don’t know anything” kids working on being a fire fighter now

I personally couldn't decide between the two if I had to but this season as the OC I'll have to because O line coach has just been made the Head Coach of the modified team

How do you guys foster competition in the kids when you have small numbers and can't exactly go best on best, eventually the kids just start to tune out the pick it up talk

In both respects then would you rather put a LB or WR at safety

Lets say if you had to choose a kid to play safety would you go with the football smart 5 foot8 kid who runsa 4.9 who can tackle or the athlete who's 5 foot 11 runs a 4 7 low football IQ who can't tackle
