Heard a great speaker talking about not starting practice with stretch. It’s slow paced, boring and redundant. They stretch about 20 minutes into practice but try to start with something more engaging.
I thought it was a great idea. By the time the regular season gets started, practice can feel too familiar and scripted.
Any ideas for what to start practice with? On air, up tempo offense? One on ones?

I've yelled it in a similar circumstance. Threw a screen against a blitz, and literally had 7 guys in the backfield on our QB. Our left tackle normally blocks the alley, but there was no one there, so he just stood and looked around. I do remember yelling, "block somebody" and later thinking I could have been more specific, but in that moment it was a sarcastic, Jerry Seinfeld high-pitched voice, "block somebody!!"

We start tackle football in 1st grade in my city/town, and we're debating pushing the age back to like 4th or 5th.
Just curious what age you guys start tackle football at in your hometowns? Do you see any benefit to starting it at such a young age? I think moms are becoming more and more afraid of concussions and delaying the tackling aspect of the sport might benefit our program in a way.
How do you all feel?

For the first time in my coaching career, we have a bye week as the second seed in the playoffs. As a result, this is foreign territory and I'm looking for some help.
What do you guys do with a bye week late in the season? Do you condition more, go back to basics almost like double sessions? Anything you've found that works well, or perhaps more importantly, doesn't work well?
