Him and my HC go wayyy back. They even hosted our playoff game and him, his staff, and the community were amazing. Not sure what's going on but according to my HC he's a great guy and coach. I don't know about the situation, but i hope it gets resolved and he keeps his job!

Yeah I never heard of Mike Thomas either, not that I should, don't really keep up with who's who around the state, have heard of Gary Joseph from Katy though...1)because its Katy and they never lose and 2) because he is in a video with Borat Is he really?!?!? We do a 6 on 6 league every year(because we play sixman football) and have never worn helmets. Do have mouth pieces though.
Down here in TX i dont think ive ever seen helmets being worn. Truth be told, dont think we're allowed too.
Seen a few collisions, but nothing too severe!

Just realized this was for youth ball. Same thing still. JH is still youth. Ahha Technically any football that isn't University is still youth. Valid point.

What we did my first year coaching (6 man) i was a JH coordinator and we had 3 coaches total, me, the HC and the DC. The high school started practicing a week before we did so everyday we split up depending on what day. (Offensive heavy, etc) and went to different positions with the coach during indy.
I went with the QBs, the DC went with the backs and the HC went with the line.
Same thing for defense, me to secondary, DC to Dline, and HC to LBs.
That helped a ton for being a first time sixman coach.
We also had coaches meetings leading up to the season and a summer camp as well. Because sometimes you just have to see players do it to learn.
Hope this helps!

Same here. We lift four days a week, though. Yeah, we lift 4 days a week, but it sucks not being able to do any real football specific drills. Oh without a doubt. Good thing is, it brings the kids together so if they wanna go play ball after lifting, then we just let em. Better than nothing!

so Jameslightfootball.com for about 30 minutes had a great SMU spring playbook and route decisions and offensive line play manuals. AWESOME stuff. alot of us may or may not have downloaded them and talked about it on another board. I got called into my HR Dept - because "an associate of June Jones" called my work, and said that i was posting illegal information online and something "must be done" about that. now, this information that i might have, was not stolen, nor does it have a copyright notice. Luckily, my HR said that it doesnt concern them and that they were just making me aware. but someone honestly tried to get me fired for having some information on June Jones's offense. I am contacting Coach Jones by email shortly to see what he thinks of this.... Crap, i downloaded it as well. Uh oh. Now i got the slot-t AND the RNS guys after me..

I know there are still a few guys out there that are still going this season, but as the season winds down, is there anyone out there who wants to do an exchange of film for analysis or just to see a different style of offense/defense/specialteams from this season? We finished our season this past Friday with the championship in the largest division in the state (5A). Beat 2 undefeated spread teams in a row to win it. Faced a couple of wingT teams along the way, lots of spread, and then Bingham, which is another Pro-I style team that is ranked high nationally each year. We are a Pro-I team with a run % over 80% for the season, and play a 3-4 personnel with an odd & even front as well as a nickel package with 3-high safeties. Let me know if anyone is interested in trading films or even better, discussing scheme and adjustments made throughout the year. Here is a link to some local media reviews of our title game: www.ksl.com/?sid=37448774&nid=504&title=herriman-refuses-to-panic-edges-lone-peak-for-first-5a-state-title-in-school-history&s_cid=queue-1I mean, the only film i have is of 6 man football. If you wanna analyze that Itd be cool. Huge fan of the pro I stuff.

Thanks pakettermanIt was a great game for our kids to get to the State Championship for the first time in our school's history. They are a great group of kids and they deserve it. We have a ton of senior leadership and other than the 2-3 underclassmen on either side of the ball, are a very experienced group. Our OL and DL dominated the game. #3 (Noah Vaea) is a junior and had his 12th INT this season which broke it open and gave us the momentum. We were able to wear them down in the 2nd half with the run game. Championship gives us a chance to avenge a loss from earlier in the season vs. the team that won our conference and is currently undefeated. They beat Bingham pretty good today, and are gonna be ranked very high nationally by next week. Sounds like a challenge coach! It would be very bitter sweet to beat them. 12 ints?! Thats insane, yall seem very well coached, and yes leadership is huge!

Texas has roughly 1,061 schools playing football with 12 state champions each year, 2 of which are 6-man football. And all the TAPPS, TIAIO, TCAL, TCAF and all those other independent types.

Thought this was too funny not to share. #88 has played basketball all the way through, and this year (junior) he came out for our 6-man football team. As you can see, he's setting a basketball screen on a block. At the last minute he put his hands up, but it was the funniest thing pausing this on film and showing the team 6 Man football is kinda like basketball on grass haha. I love the 6 man game. Yall from Texas? Team kinda looks familiar.
