From my understanding. It was never against the associations rules to make money on your Name image or likeness. Now, it could have made you ineligible to play I. The ncaa. But 95% of kids were not going to be playing a college sport anyways.

It will be interesting to see how this affects high school sports. Besides football, there is a huge push towards the private sector. If colleges start recruiting more from the private/ club teams, how will it affect poorer communities and the kids notable to afford the costs. Obviously the the top players will be found, but a lot of kids will miss out on d2 d3 opportunities.
Also, wondering if the major college alum will open prep schools adjacent to the college and start to play a national schedule. These kids could start making money when they are 14-15 years old.

Was having a conversation about high school football with a buddy and he eventually asked me what would be something i would want to see changed at the high school level and i was torn between two things but one eventually won out, that being i would like it if we moved the Hashes inward to the college Hashes because i dont love the limited space into the boundary currently. Just wondering what other things people would pick if they could change just one aspect. Fumbling out of bounds should be a turnover, like it is in the end zone.

During this offseason, I have been doing some self scout for our defense (I'm a varsity DC). I am a huge believer in goal setting. I want our goals to be specific and measurable. Also, I don't want to just spit out some things that might "sound good". I've looked at 3rd down efficiency, turnovers, penalties, etc. So my question is this: In your experience, What are some of the stats, numbers, metrics, etc. that have largely impacted the outcome of your games? It could be defense, offense, or things that apply to the whole team. Points scored and points given up

when the offense messes up they can punt. Defense don’t have that option.

I've watched a lot of Bears games this year... I coached 3 years with Nagy at the school I’m currently at. He was the OC I was the DC.

Does any other sport do this? Even at the youth level?

Shorten practice by 5 minutes every other week. By the end of the year, practice will be 30 minutes shorter. It makes it easy only finding 5 minutes to take out instead of finding 25 minutes in week 8.

Haven’t kids been graduating early and missing winter and spring sports to go to college early?

Not racism, but I know certain teams get treated differently by officials. When we are the home team, refs are strict about back plates, arm bands and all the look at me stuff that is illegal and you’ll get flagged for pointing up to the student section or celebrating to much.
When you play a city school, at their place, all those rules go out the window. Teams spike the ball in the end zone and taunt. Nothing gets done.

I was a Baltimore this weekend. Didn't see him but I heard that John DiFilippo was excellent. I saw Malik Hall and Dave Wiemers and though they were good..Maybe I am getting grumpy but in general I thought the clinic was just... meh ** I was sitting in a RPO session, a coach (not me) asks the speaker hey how do you handle the scrape LB in this case..Oh the qb just has to outrun that guy...I walked out..come to find out his qb went to clemson as a wr..now this coach won his state championship and speaks all over the place as a guru..what an F'ing joke I sat for 5 hours with Wiemers. (Mostly because nothing else was going on) thought he did a pretty good job explaining how his defense was forced to change over the past 5 years because of RPO's.

Not all teams read it every time. Also, it helps me later, when watching film, figure out who they are reading. Ex. A team is running the zone read with a bubble. And they threw the bubble 7% of the time. I want to know if they are actually reading that or is it called. It helps me locate the play faster when studying the film.

For scouting other teams offense. I use - yard line - hash- down - distance- formation - formation strength - backfield - play type - Off play - play strength - yards gained -
If teams are option I'll tag who keeps the ball If a team has personnel packages I'll tag that as well.
Now, I break down 3 games, but I don't always include all the data when I run reports. I may use my game from last year if they have the same skill kids back and are running the same plays. If the score is lopsided I might only include the first half. And I may only include teams that have a 4 man front if it looks like they did something different against an odd front etc.

An average play is about 10 seconds. You only count the time they are going live. Not the time they are jogging back to the huddle or getting coached up between plays. That equates to 360 plays per week.
