Last year was the first year at a new school, i applied and interviewed to be the Var QB coach, after talking with the HC and the OC i decided to take the open job as the Frosh OC. The Frosh HC was our DC, he let me do whatever i wanted on offense. The previous Frosh HC the year before me moved up to the Var as an assistant. Now this year, that previous HC will be returning to the Frosh team as the HC and as the OC, last years HC/DC will remain as DC and i have been offered a position as the OL coach and "Run Game Coordinator". My question is how would you respond in this situation, keeping in mind that you have not really been in the loop for these moves, you simply woke up to a text stating essentially that this is whats happening. Additionally, i have been calling plays the last 5 years on one side of the ball or the other, i havent been a pure position coach in 6 years.
Do you want to be a coach, or just have a title-call plays?
Hahahahaha. The two things are not mutually exclusive. Don’t ever change man.

Pretty sure the company folded. I could be crossing some wires here though.

Sorry but coaching something you know nothing about is simply malpractice. 1st if you are coaching kids who have been playing since they were 4-5 years old. So when you say something wrong they will know and you now have lost your team. 2nd by coaching them wrong you have a negative impact on them and their success. I suggest you show some integrity and simply refuse the job and state why. I dont teach math, because I am not a math teacher, what makes you think it's ok to coach baseball when you are not a baseball coach. Sorry but what you are doing is simply wrong and if its all about the money, then it's even more wrong.. Did you even read the thread? He basically stated that it was being forced on him by his admin.

So. I'm coaching baseball. I don't know anything about baseball. Is there a coach huey for baseball? If so someone let me know. Thanks.
Why would you take a job coaching something you know nothing about?
I could be wrong, but I would assume he wasn't given much choice in the matter. You already knew that though.

I don't think those Notre Dame & Iowa dates are correct. March 30th is a Monday...never heard of a clinic that runs through Monday. Hmmm, that is true Coach, I found them on Twitter under the clinic list. Where is this "clinic list" you speak of? Is there a Twitter account that posts college coaching clinic dates?

To be honest, if their primary market were NFL teams, I'd be totally fine with it. Bilk some billionaires out of a few extra bucks, they can afford it. But their primary market is high schools, which are...not known for having stacks of ducats just lying around. I know, I know, everybody is going to get all uppity about "oh so they can't sell their product" or "entitled to the sweat of their brow" or whatever, but it's just kind of {censored} to make a decision solely because you can extract money from the education system. how do you know the reason they're doing it? I highly doubt it's just to F cash strapped programs over. Like any business, they are most likely analyzing their overhead costs and adjusting accordingly. If they were going to do it just to screw people, they'd have done it a long time ago.

Don't get too established in there young man. Your 72 inch TV and whiteboards will soon be replaced with a crib and a lamb hanging on the wall that says "Sweet Dreams" while your shyt gets moved to the garage.

I love Twitter. It has revolutionized the way I interact with coaches and guys that breakdown film/write for a living. I just wish you could "file" your Tweets into a certain category and others could pick which category of tweets show up in their timeline. I like following coaches, but I DGAF how their girls basketball team did in their game, when their ACT prep class is or how awesome their wife is for running a 5K. I do however understand the need to promote things, spread propaganda, etc. I just wish their was a way to filter who gets it and what we see on our timelines.

Twitter has replaced this site as the main place of interaction for me for a couple simple reasons:
1) It's easier to navigate on your phone 2) It's a lot easier to post cut-ups/video clips

Yeah the guys that irk me on there are the ones who spew out NFL and NCAA playbooks and video. I understand you've done tons of research and are good with video editing but have you ever called that stuff in a real game? Some of that stuff isn't even useful at the high school level. Again as someone said earlier it's an attention getter. You want to impress me show me what you did to win the district championship not how Saban runs his dime blitzes. Duece Those dudes are really annoying but they don't hold a candle to the ones that call for coaches to be fired and show a clear lack of understanding when it comes to how difficult it is to win at certain levels. I've seen coaches that should understand and appreciate the difficulty of winning championships show a complete lack of understanding on Twitter. It's like they forget they're a coach and turn into a dipsh!t armchair coach/fan once they log in to Twitter. I've also seen a coach or two tweet at and attack college kids on Twitter. I've seen a certain coach tweet directly at college coaches talking sh!t. The lack of professionalism is astounding.

University of Tennessee Coaches Clinic 4/11-4/13 Just got an email that this was moved to 3/7-3/9: Previously you received an email from me with information on our annual football coaches clinic. Due to circumstances beyond our control, the dates of the clinic have changed. The new dates are March 7 -9, 2019. Please mark your calendars. We are planning the same great educational and social networking clinic as last year. Some of the highlights of last year’s clinic include: • Chalk Talk & social with UT coaches – includes food & drink • Coach Pruitt, Coach Fulmer, Coach Cutcliffe & Peyton Manning • Mike Vrabel – Tennessee Titans, Josh McDaniels – New England Patriots • 2017 Division II National Champion Texas A&M-Commerce offensive staff • 2017 Division III National Champion Mount Union Head Coach – Vince Kehres This year’s clinic will include more chalk talk and social time with the UT football staff and HUGE lineup of great football minds. You will also have the opportunity to attend two UT football spring practices.

Please post any flyers or information you can find or get here. It's easier to hack the credit card database on Amazon than it is to find information online about these things right now.

Thank you for all of the suggestions. We had our first week of practice this past week as well and I didn’t have much time to respond, but your help is appreciated. The clinic went very well. If anyone has to or wants to put on one of these in the future I have some ideas that can help after running one.

In the past, we've done the Glazier or a college coaching clinic but are looking to mix it up a little this year and go visit another high school staff. I'm not necessarily looking to sit around a whiteboard, but more program management, practice organization, player development, etc. Ideally, I'd like to find the following:
1) located in the Midwest or Southeast 2) a successful (relatively speaking, doesn't have to be state champs every year but one that maximizes what they have) program that is generally "out-athleted" but is able to equalize through player development, program management, teaching of scheme, etc.
Any help would be appreciated

Although it doesn't necessarily have to be an in-game decision, Saban's decision last night to bench a starter than was 24-2 in his career and go with the backup got me thinking about this.
How did it work out? Would you make the same decision a second time?

Gotcha, just figured that out. Now, does anyone know how to capture it to a hard drive, or get it into huddle? You have to use a screen capturing program such as screencast-o-matic.com/, save it as an MP4, upload to Hudl and then manually (or use the scene detection at your own risk) cut it up
