Tis the season! Many kids will not know the rush of running down the stairs, opening up that package and seeing John Madden's sweet face looking back at you for Sega. So I ask, what's your favorite football video game of all time? Favorite has to be NCAA 13 (last one I had). Honorable Mention- Super Play Action Football on SNES (It had high school teams you could create), Tecmo SUPER BOWL (first game that had subs) and NFL SPORTSTALK FOOTBALL (my best friend and I went off script and ran our own plays).
You guys?

NCAA 14 was hands down the best NCAA game they ever made...then they stopped making them.

NCAA 06 was my last. Reggie Bush on the cover. Played a sh!t ton of Tecmo Bowl, Bill Walsh College Football, Madden over Christmas break back in the day.
I truly believe it laid the foundation to becoming a good coach. The amount of situational football reps I had as a child is remarkable.

NCAA 07 and Madden 06 were both great time wasters during college.
As for childhood Christmas morning type things I think I got Madden 2000 for N64 one year and spent my entire break playing it. Funny enough when I get together with my college friends now days we play the N64 games more than any current or college-era things.

Dont forget about madden 2004 with mike Vick on the cover.
I would also do the fantasy draft and make him my first pick. Then put together a ridiculous offense around him, and then draft all of the fastest defensive players left. Domination!

NCAA 14
I don't care how old I am, I would buy that game in a heartbeat if they made it again.

Too much pay-to-win/pay-to-unlock-this-bs nowadays, it is frustrating

"Modern Era" NCAA '14
"Old Era" Tecmo Bowl
Prior to Tecmo there was nothing like it. I played it for hours.
I am in my 40s now and if they came out with NCAA '14 again I would buy whatever platform I needed to play that game again.

I think it was COLLEGE FOOTBALL USA on Sega (after Bill Walsh pulled his name), that got me hooked. Mizzou fan, and being able to play as "my team" was awesome, plus Corby Jones was the truth in the game running the option with Brock Olivio. I remember one of the early NCAA games, that first had recruiting, spend hours on that stuff, again, as Mizzou, turning them into multiple time National Champ. Heck I even had a QB plan. Bring a guy in, redshirt him, back up, then start his junior year. I'd spend hours putting in the right roster and adding in the "big name" players (pre community roster days).

The original Tecmo Bowl. Dug up my copy last summer and if I'm playing a video game, it's probably it.
I enjoyed Madden until PS3. It's almost unplayable now IMO.

Whichever one that was, was amazing. I just looked at all the stupid spot drop zones and drew up routes that went between them....couldn't be beat unless you were in man. Then I just used vick, let your man coverage clear and scramble for 20 yards.

NCAA 14 I was studying the Flexbone at the time and ran it ingame as well (although with Texas A&M ) had some insane online record 350-50 losses. My real life record, not as good, now if I can just get everyone on the same page and control the QB might be a different story

Pretty much missed the whole video game thing. My son went through all the games. But, I did play the Sports Illustrated football board game. Had to roll dice to get the result. Had to choose the play, other guy chose the defense. Had to take into account the situations and make the call. Then roll the dice to see who won the play. Change the situation, go again.

I still have my SI "Bowl Bound" College Football board game from 1973.
Came up with a way to play it "solitaire."
Yes I know I'm an old fart and not tech-savvy enough to play video games.
I can live with it. At least for a few more years until they come to carry me away.
