First year HC and I'm curious what advice, or rules even, anyone may give their players for when they are being interviewed. Season just started for us and one player has been interviewed. When I was a player, my HC went over that with ones that may be interviewed. I, however, was never a part of those meetings as a player. Been a DC prior to this new HC job for 12 years and I never heard of such a discussion taking place or at least I was never privy to it. I do think it would be beneficial to prep and prepare them for it, as most aren't sure what to say and could and will say something dumb. All I can think of telling them is.....1. Don't say anything stupid and 2. Always build up our opponent, i.e. don't provide bulletin material.
Any help would be appreciated

Deflect all personal questions by talking about the team and how they are working to improve.
All opponents are worthy of hard work and preparation.

1) be OVERLY positive 2) deflect personal questions onto the team 3) We not Me 4) keep answers short
