How do you deal with what New Jersey has done related to contact! How do you allot for it regarding Oklahoma drills & scrimmaging?

It's not going to change anything we do during the week because we almost never take to the ground during the week during team period. Our tackling drills are all based on form as well.
The six-hour rule during the preseason will change a little about the format of our scrimmages, making them more "controlled" practice in nature.

I'm not sure how New Jersey's rule reads, but in other states that have this, it is written as 15 minutes of contact for each player, on an individual basis. So Jonny might be in an Oklahoma drill for 15 minutes, but he isn't "involved" for the full 15 minutes.

Even if you did nothing but full contact drills and added up the time the players were actually in contact with each other, it might be 2-3 minutes total for the session, even if they got a lot of reps -- unless you do a lot of sumo, 5 yard fight, etc. that might add minutes.

Just like it was said earlier its not going to change anything in season. The preseason will be a little tougher and we will just have to be quicker in contact periods and probably not have team contact (which is fine with our numbers anyways I suppose) and good point on the Oklahoma law. I want to read the wording precisely and see if ours is similar to that. What it does do is - makes us log in the hours and gives HCs one more headache - creates one more law that is difficult to enforce and may ignored by some, creating claims and complaints from losing team about how "team X doesn't follow the rules" (even if they do) - perhaps the biggest impact IMO though is that it gives disgruntled parents ONE more thing - a big thing - to complain about and get coaches that they don't like fired. Even if you are doing everything right, the accusations alone are enough to cost you your job. Just what this state needs EVEN MORE of - highschoolsports.nj.com/news/article/366861828917785856/why-a-new-law-is-driving-big-time-coaches-out-of-high-school-sports/and www.northjersey.com/story/news/essex/montclair/2017/11/06/montclair-john-fiore-protect-coaches/834698001/

The minute rule seems to be for legal purposes to cover someone's a$$ IMO. There is absolutely no way in he!! you would be able to keep up with that for every kid on the team. In Arkansas we can't hit on consecutive days in the spring and during the season we have 2 contact days a week counting Fridays games. It's easy to keep up with even though I'm sure there are coaches that ignore the rule. Coincidentally, we do have kids on the team that get no contact all year.

As others have stated not going to the ground during team anyways mitigates this factor.
I’d be interested to see how it is planned to be enforced though
