I still would like Lucy Draper (Kathy Ireland) from Necessary Roughness to kick. Giddyup The problem with that is that if I was the head coach and she was the kicker, we would never be on the field. I would have her in my office doing up-downs. Well played, good sir.

Loch: I want Marvin "Shake" Tiller at WR and Billy Clyde Puckett at RB, but not Kris Kristofferson and Burt Reynolds from that dog-ass movie -- just the characters from the Dan Jenkins novel.

QB - Shane Falco
DB - The other guy from "The Replacements" who was in Jail and then got out to play football because the State wanted him too. He carried that team, made all the big plays.
I know we are in agreement that Kathy Ireland should be the kicker, but for kickoffs Nigel "the Leg" Gruff. Nothing is better than a guy smoking on the field before a 60+ yard kick.

Who have you got on your team, suckas?? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't know how this post went so long without including linebackers Charles Jefferson (Fast Times at Ridgemont High) and Terry Tate (Office Linebacker). Maybe I should run the defense for you.

Bruce Lee IS the offense. Chuck Norris IS the defense.

Chewbacca would be a good Tight End. What a wookie! I see Chewbacca more as lead blocker.

Wow. The offseason looks like its been a lil rough on some of us already. But i'll bite. 1st off, that LB combo of Boucher/Mack/Terry Tate (Bateman off the bench I guess, or you could run a 3-4) would be freakin nuts. Also, if Lattimer is not on your list, you're insane. I had a group of RBs that painted their faces like him for our rivalry games. It was pretty sick.

I really can't believe i just contributed to this conversation. The history major in me absolutely hates nearly all fiction.
Ivory Christian is an awesome character and me be my favorite player in a football movie.
My favorite character from the Friday Night Lights book though was Jerrod McDougal. I read the book going into High School and connected with McDougal's character so well. Honestly, I drew a lot of inspiration and motivation from McDougal. My biggest complaint about the movie is that his character was completely left out.

I would add the big Samoan dude and Sinbad from Necessary Roughness to my O-Line and D-Line. Gotta have Reno Hightower at QB, but only if he's being a p*rick, because "when he was a p*rick, he was the best dam* quarterback in Kern County!"

OK, who are the all-time greatest move football players at their positions? If you could put together an all-star team made up of movie / TV characters, who would you have on your team? Here are some of my picks: OFFENSE: QB: Reno Hightower (The Best of Times) RB: Boobie Miles (Friday Night Lights) ok, I know he was a real guy too, but whatever… FB: Ray Griffin (The Program) I think this is the only FB I know of featured in a movie…and he was a converted TB WR: Charlie Tweeder (Varsity Blues) WR: Rod Tidwell (Jerry McGuire) TE: Jack “I’m pretty damn fast for a Caucasian” Dundee (The Best of Times) **he was clearly playing out of position at WR OL: The really fat kid (Remember the Titans) OL: Bud “Lite” Kaminski (The Program) OL: Dickey LaRue (The Best of Times) OL: Billy Bob (Varsity Blues) OL: The guy who wrecks Alvin Mack (The Program) DEFENSE: DL: Jumbo (The Replacements) **Yeah, he should be a NT DL: Steve Lattimer (The Program) LB: Shark (Any Given Sunday) LB: Bobby Boucher (The Waterboy) LB: Alvin Mack (The Program) LB: Danny Batemen (The Replacements) DB: Rudy (Rudy) **the movie version, not the real version DB: Stefen Djordjevic (All The Right Moves) DB: Dr. Death (The Best of Times) SPECIAL TEAMS: KR / PR: Forrest Gump (Forrest Gump) K / P: Kathy Ireland (Necessary Roughness) Who have you got on your team, suckas?? at LB you gotta take the kung fu guy from necessary roughness and the big somoan OL as well QB think about Tyler Falco and Willie Beeman if your running the spread... probably want someone with some wheels 3rd down back you probably bring in who ever Nelly played in The Longest Yard remake... kid had moves also, find a spot for Cheeseburger Eddie from Teh Longest Yard remake too..

I think Samuel L Jackson at QB would some interesting snap counts. "Ezekiel, Ezekiel, 25....17.....set Go!" id rather have jules winfield at DC - "Jump Offsides again, I Dare you, I Double Dare you MF'er!"

Any team without Andre Krimm (Sinbad, Necessary Roughness) on the DL is not worth the bandwidth it took to post it.
